Snood Pattern:
Use your green yarn and a 5 mm hook to create the snood. I do not chain 1 at
the end of each round, however you can do this if you prefer.
Neck section:
Rnd 1: Ch 26 [adjust chains depending on the length of your dog’s neck, this
will be the height of the red line].
Rnd 2: Skip first Ch, SC in all 25 ch, turn
[25]
Rnd 3: BLO SC in each St, turn [25]
Rnd 4-75*: BLO SC x 25, turn [25]
*Adjust the number of rows so the neck
part fits comfortably around your dog’s
neck.
Rnd 76: Slst the 2 ends together, working
through both loops of the SC and the
chain stich [25]
Do not fasten off.
Head section:
Rnd 1: Ch 5 [adjust chains depending on how far you want the snood to sit on
your dog’s face, this will be the length of the white line].
Rnd 2: Skip first Ch, SC into the remaining 4 Ch, SC around the 76 rows of the
neck part, SC into the other side of the 4 Ch, turn [4 + 76 + 4 = 84]
Rnd 3: BLO SC in each St, turn [84]
Rnd 4-30*: BLO SC x 84, turn [84]
*Adjust the number of rounds so the head part almost closes comfortably
around your dog’s head when you join the 2 sides. This will be the height of the
purple line. Make sure it’s not too loose as we’ll be working 4 more rows which
include decreases.

If you’ve adjusted the pattern and have a different number of stiches, deduct 8
stiches for the decrease from the number of stiches you had at the end of
round 30 and divide that number by 2. In row 31 you will single crochet for this
amount, work 4 decreases and single crochet in the reaming stiches. Repeat
the above steps until row 34. E.g. at round 30 I had 84 stiches, 84 – 8 = 76. 76/2
= 38. So based on a stich count of 84 in round 30, round 31 would be:
Rnd 31: BLO SC 38, (Dec) x 4, SC 38, turn (80)
Rnd 32: BLO SC 36, (Dec) x 4, SC 36, turn (76)
Rnd 33: BLO SC 34, (Dec) x 4, SC 34, turn (72)
Rnd 34: BLO SC 32, (Dec x 4), SC 32, turn (68)
35: Slst the 2 ends together, working through both loops of both SCs.
Fasten off and weave in your end on the inside of the snood.

Frog Eye Pattern: Create 2

Use your 3-weight yarn and a 3 mm hook to create the eyes. Colours used will
be indicated at the start of each round.

Rnd 3: (1 SC, Inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: 1 SC, Inc, (2 SC, Inc) x 5, 1 SC [24]

Front of eyes (make 2):
Start in black
Rnd 1: 6 SC in MR
Rnd 2: Inc x 6 [12]
Change to white
Rnd 3: (1 SC, Inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: 1 SC, Inc, (2 SC, Inc) x 5, 1
SC [24]
Rnd 5: (3 SC, Inc) x 6 [30]
Change to green
Rnd 6: 2 SC, Inc, (4 SC, Inc) x 5, 2 SC [36]
Don’t fasten off.

Hold the front and pack of the eye

together, ensuring the right side is
facing outwards and any yarn ends are
sandwiched between the pieces (knot
them or weave them in to secure
them). Slip stich through all 36 stiches
on the front and back piece to connect
them, fasten off leaving a long tail for
sewing.

Sew the eyes on the 2nd to 4th ribs from

the centre, 15 stiches away from the
front of the snood. There should be an
interspace of 3 ribs (one on each side
of the centre join).
