I - OBJECTIVE
Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of constellations and the
information derived from their location in the sky.
Performance Standard The learners should be able to debug local myths and folklore
about the Moon and the Stars by presenting pieces of evidence to
convince the community folks.
Learning Competencies Identify star patterns that can be seen at particular times of the

Learning Objective At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
Identify common constellations in the sky;
Appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
Create a detailed report comparing and contrasting constellations
visible on different hemispheres.

Lesson Proper
Motivation For now, I’ll show you different picture of stars with its name but it
is in a jumbled. All you have to do is to arrange first the letters and
guess what is the name of the star. There is a clue, the clue is the
first letter of the words is in a correct place is that clear to
everyone?

Thank you for your active participation.

These stars are among the brightest in the night sky and can be
easily seen with our naked eye.

ENGAGE Now that you already know the name of some stars in the sky, we
will find where is it located.

For your activity, I will group you into two (2) groups. Each group
will select a representative to pick a piece of paper in my hand.
You only have five (5) minutes to do the activity that assigned to
you.

Here’s the name of the activity:

1: Constellation Matching Game


You will identify the name of constellation, shapes and possible
number of stars that belongs to the said constellations. You will
present it in front of your classmates.

2: Constellations Dot-to-dot
This group will connect the dots from various constellations
using a straight line. Present it in front of the class and tell what
various constellations are formed.
