Project Description:
Bechtel is currently bidding for The New Murabba Project Infrastructure” w hich w ill be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and w alking and cycling paths that w ill enhance the quality of life by
promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It w ill also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture
venues.
The project w ill be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents. The project
w ill offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as w ell as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of
leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.

The New Murabba project w ill offer a unique living, w orking and entertainment experience w ithin a 15-minute w alking radius and w ill have its ow n internal transport system. It w ill be approximately 20-minutes' drive from
the airport.

Sum m ary of Responsibilities:

The Construction Engineer is responsible for the oversight of contractors’ w orks and w ork completion of major earthw orks and civil related scopes. The Construction Engineer is responsible for overseeing all appointed
Contractor’s job site activities and ensure that the construction operations and contractor’s performance follow project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, w hilst maintaining effective relationships w hen interfacing
w ith stakeholders and general public.

Essential Job Duties:

Coordinate and oversight of compliance of contractors, ensuring w orks are carried out as per the draw ings, specifications, and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality
standards and local/national regulatory safety codes.
Coordinate performance of the earthw orks contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems.
Coordinate w ith contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in Earthw orks, site clearance, utility diversion
Input to ensure continuous construction w ork fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other
service requirements including contractor submittals.
Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the specific w ork at site.
Verifies compliance w ith Permit and License requirements and stipulations.
Responsible for review ing and approving the contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Draw ings and As-Builts.
Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply w ith international standard and technical specification requirements.
Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects.

Qualifications, Experience, Job Know ledge, and Skill set Requirem ents:
A recognized degree in Civil engineering or scientific discipline, and/or specialized courses in construction management
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction projects
Has proven experience and thorough know ledge in construction of large-scale projects.
Thorough know ledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated.
Experience in arranging and supervising bulk earthw orks, excavation, site clearance and utility diversion.
Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC is preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive w ork environment betw een all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the
project life cycle.
Self-motivated individual w ith ability to w ork independently and exercise professional judgment, w ith a passion to take ow nership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and
construction engineers.
Experience of w orking in construction of region connecting projects such as roads, rails, related utilities and other infrastructures like camps, approaches, lifestyle buildings etc.,
Able to demonstrate know ledge and experience of process improvement processes such as Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
Ideally familiar w ith w orking know ledge of Bechtel safety and security philosophies and process on the construction site.
