台灣在地社區營造運動與傳物館型態之轉型
一 -蘇澳自米木屐村案例之研究

摘要: 博 物 館 與 社 區 的 議 題 可 從 博 物 館 觀 點， 探 討 透 過 社 區 或 民 眾 互 動， 增 進 博 物

館對公眾的「展示 」與 「教 育 」功能 ，以及從社區民 眾的角度 ，分析運 用博物 館「蒐集 」

和 「 展 示」地 方 文物 ， 進 行社區 發展; 也 可從社 區總 體 營 造與 社 區博 物 館 發展 ， 重新理

解 博物館的 概念與意義 。

本文觀察白米社區總體營造與木屐館的發展，探究社區營 造如何 重新找尋 地方文 化

資產 ，以及透過社區民眾參與的方式 ，累積地方文物「展演 」能量，藉此對比 博物館的

展示功 能 ，思索全球化時代 傳物館 的 變遷 。

博物館 間的 互動與 交流在 全球化 時 空收斂下也 已經大 幅提 升 ， 今日博物館 除了 建築

主 體無法隨 處移動 ，人 、物 件 、知識 都有可 能 在世界 各 地 不 同展覽館 串流不息 ， 任 何珍

貴典藏出現在台灣某博物館展場已經不是新鮮事 ，思 考如何將全 世界 典藏進行 更有效 的

公開展示 ，成為 當前博物館經營者必須面對的重要任務， r 展 演 」 逐 漸 成 為 觀 眾 主 要 指

認 與 暫時 「 存有 」 博 物館 的 印 象來源 。白 米的 社區總 體 營造以 社 區 居民 豐富 的創 造 能 力 ，

透 過 民眾 參 與 提 升 地 方 的產 業 、生 態 、 環境 與 文 化 的 社 會價 值 ， 對 內 凝 聚 地 方 文 化資本 ，

對外 振興地方文 化 產業，呈 現與製 造 了巨大 的 博物館 展演 能量 ，其演 化成博 物 館 的 過 程

比 一般博物館要更加鮮活與真實 。

Abstract: This article discu sse s the issue of museum s and community from their
respectiv e perspective s. It explores improvin g mu seums ' functions of di splay and education
via interaction with their public s. Whil st , from a community perspecti ve , the utility of
mu seums is analyzed on the ba si s of their funct ions of collecting and exhibiting local
artifacts to accumulate cultural capital and conduct community development. Al so 巴xamined

is the concept of mu seum operation given the dynami c environment afforded by

The arti cl e examines the de v 巴lopment of the Baimi wooden shoe (cl og) mu seum and
co mmuni ty empow er me n t. The -rediscov er y of loc al cultu ral tre asures from the pract ice of
con struct ion , and the de sire to gather and di splay local cultural ar tifact s th rough commun it y
parti cip ati on is in v 巴 stigated. The pu rpo se of thi s inve st igation is to brin g some sa liency to a
discu ssion on mu seum displ ay fun cti on s and then con sider the se in the light of ch ange s to a
mu seum ' s functions in thi s global era .
Interaction and exchange among st museums have dr amatically increased in the global
er a. Nowadays , except for it s str ucture , a museum's contents , people , and knowledge are all
readily transportable to mu seums worldwide. Whil st at one time the arrival of a foreign
preci ou s coll ection was greeted with a great deal of fan f are , th ese da ys such occu rrence s are
more commonplace and seemingl y le ss news worthy. Thi s situation has led mu seums
worl dwide to try to bett 巴r understand the management and attractiveness of their di splays
and th e publics th 巳 y serve . The dynamic en vironment that modern mu seums operate in mean s
th at th e nature of exhibition s , and performances ha ve become important theme s for mu seums
的 they reach out to attract and cr ea te an impact on public s th at are spoilt for choice .
In ex amining the function s of a mu seum at a loc al lev el we note that Baimi community
empo we rment is based on the abundant creati ve abili ties of community re sidents and a high
le vel of community pa rticipation , wh ich impro ves local indus try , the natural en vironment
and how their culture is valued . The value of a mu seum in thi s context le ad s to local cultural
capital being concentrated internall y whilst the local cultural industry is enhanced externally_
The mu seum act s as a well spring for community empowerment and its value intrin sically
recognized.
