STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

According to Elbert Hubbard, “One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine

can do the work of one extraordinary man.” Thus, taking inspiration from the quote, I believe the

success of any modern business depends on the efficient administration of its workforce. The

Human Resource Department of a company seeks out for the best candidates by identifying and

supporting the aspirant’s extraordinary growth potential. Therefore, through trial and error,

learning and unlearning, my self- exploration has underlined my intrinsic interest in human

narrations, tendencies, facilitation and management. Further at a time when every business is

undergoing fast digitization and globalization, I seek to focus on finding my niche in a rapidly

expanding sector of human resources, where I can contribute significantly.

Turning the leaf of my educational pursuits, I have always been a dedicated soul who has enjoyed

walking the extra mile to try and test my capabilities. Also, I am fortunate to have a strong support

pillar from my teachers, family and friends, who have motivated me to push my comfort zone to

reach out and excel. Thus, I meticulously completed my higher secondary examination and senior

secondary schooling in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Further, having identified my natural

inclination for English prose and verse, I embarked upon my undergraduate with a degree in BA

(Bachelor of Arts) specializing in English Honours from a college which is affiliated to the

prestigious Calcutta University and will likely attain my completion by 2024. I am thankful for the

comprehensive course structure of my college, which has provided me with subject choices for

skill and ability enhancements. Further, I have proactively engaged in various academic projects,

group assignments and internal assessments to implement my knowledge and gain practical and

analytical impressions of the coursework.

Furthermore, owing to my eagerness, I strived and undertook a part-time job as a Relationships

Manager (Trainee) with Said Wellbeing Pvt. Ltd. I was exposed to the nitty-gritty involved in a

small business enterprise. I was tasked to maintain congenial relationships with customers and

cater to prospective clients. My role also involved me to answer queries of loyal clients via formal

mail.

Moreover, I have always been outgoing, which inevitably led to my active participation in

extracurricular activities. In addition, my quest to unleash more of my inner voice was quenched

by practicing and formally learning North Indian Classical Dance- Kathak, Classical Music and

Swimming. Thus, throughout my schooling and current college educational endeavours, I have

thrived to nourish my extrovert by participating in competitions, seminars workshops and co-

curricular events. Hence, my eventful journey has sharpened my analytical, leadership,

communication, time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills specific to the

challenging yet satisfying domain of engaging with human tendencies and human resources. Also,

I owe it to my colourful journey that has given me clarity of mind about what I want to achieve in

life.

Therefore, pursuing a dedicated master’s degree in Human Resource Management and being able

to avail the patronage of the respected legacy of Sheffield Hallam University, UK, is my next

thoughtful step to realign my future professional career pathway as the course is CIPD and AACSB

accredited placing it amongst the top business schools globally. The comprehensive curriculum

enables a wide range of HRM related roles. Most importantly the course involves extra- curricular

activities like workshops enabling practical application of the theories, which will help me attain

a global prospective from an advanced podium like your institute in the UK. I aim to hone my

competencies to meet the multicultural dynamics of the Human Resource sphere. Thus, I sincerely
aspire to undergo the enigmatic horizons of human resources through your extensive syllabi. I am

assured that pursuing your master’s degree will arm me with refined insights into and to cater to

the emerging niche of the contemporary business atmosphere.

Additionally, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to exchange and learn from experienced faculty

members and industry experts is undoubtedly a pull for enthusiasts like me worldwide. I am excited

to interact with a world-inclusive student classes, broaden my intercultural sensitivity and emerge

as a pragmatic HRM at par with the world. I aspire to establish a thriving career in the arena of

human resource management and bring honour to my community and Alma Mater. To conclude,

I extend my gratitude to the admission review committee for reading my modest application and

hope they will consider it.
