COMMENTS TO THE AUTHOR(S)

1. Abstract should have some numerical result values rather than giving some
percentage.
The percentage provided in the abstract was replaced with the numerical values.
2. Typo errors should be checked, like page number 2, line 52 lignin, abaca etc, that are
wrongly spelled as lignan and anaca
This correction was carried out and the grammar , typo errors had been checked for
the entire document.
3. Introduction should be reframed with the sequence of concrete then, what is natural
fibers, their types, how the strength and composition are influenced, the need for
treatment, types of treatment, literature discussions, and then what is the need for this
study with research gap, some information about the present study,

4. The units should be the same throughout the manuscript. For example, density is
given as kg/cm3, while in some cases, it is given as kg/m3. It should be constant.
The units have been changed in a constant manner.
5. Is the properties given in Table 1 from literature or supplier provided or tested? It has
to be specified generally that properties vary from region to region.
The properties given in the table is the tested property of the fiber used.
6. Page 6 line 61, “thermally treated abaca fiber.” How it is done. Drying the fiber in the
oven is not treatment; did it change any properties? Explain.
It is not thermally treated , it is oven heated fiber,
This result indicated the extraction of cellulose during the alkalization process with
the heating process is more effective to separate lignin and hemicellulose matrix than
without heating process. Lignin and hemicellulose are polymer with amorph phase.
The removal of those components from the cellulose fiber led to the increase of
crystallinity degree.
7. The test procedure of various tests performed should be given in materials and
methods sections with sample size and standard details.
The specimen size has been included.
8. Discussions should be further enhanced for the tests on par with the literature.
