SUBJECT: ASSAULT OF A MEMBER NUMBER 082079Q CST GWAZE

STATIONED AT PGHQ LEGAL AFFAIRS.

This memorandum serves to put on record circumstances surrounding

subject matter.

CIRCUMSTANCES

1. On the 7th day of June 2024 at around 0730hours and at Glendale

police a report was received number 082079Q CST GWAZE NR Un 71-
105875T71 a male adult aged 39 years of 365 Westview, Glendale.
Member is stationed at PGHQ Legal Affairs, Harare to the effect that he
was assaulted by John and Shadreck Mutero his brother in-laws N.R
unknown aged 36 years 39 of Chitungwiza exact address not known.

2. Circumstances are that on 6th day of July 2024 at around 1300hours the
two accused persons John and Shadreck Mutero proceeded to Stanely
Gwaze's residence.

3. On their way Shadreck MUTERO and John MUTERO met the complainant at
Westview shops, Glendale and they informed him that they had come to
take their sister`s property.
4. Upon arrival at his residence a misunderstanding arose between the
complainant and his brother in laws after he told them that he needs
someone to witness the taking of his wife`s property.
5. The two accused persons Shadreck and John Mutero become angry and
started to chase the complainant and caught up with him within the yard
and started to assault him.
6. The two accused persons struck the complainant with stones all over the
body several times.
7. The accused persons tied the complainant`s hands with a wire and took
turns to assault him with booted feet and sticks which they pick from the
yard all over the body several times.
8. On 7 July 2024 at around 0838 hours a reported was filed at Glendale
police. The scene was attended and the complainant sustained a swollen
face, hands and bruises on the stomach. Complainant was referred to
Concession District Hospital where he was treated and discharge. His
condition is stable.
9. Investigation are still in progress, your office will be notified of any new
