Inspection of INSEE cement plant Puttalama

This was very exiting inspection for me. During this inspection I have seen the many processes of the
manufcuring cement from the mining limestone to loading cement bags to transport. We have inspected
following items.
Flat Webbing Slings and Roundslings DEE / BOW shackels
Eye bolts Wire ropes
Life lines SRL
Air compressor Master link
Man basket JLG machine
Excavator Safety harness

Giving solution for a problem

Normally we reject Dee shackles that are not mention SWL or other identification marks on the shackles.
Because of that reason we reject one dee shackle and labors said that shackle has very unique purpose and
they are use that for low weights. All other part are working condition and then we measure the pin and
arm diameters and take standard SWL for that shackle. Then we punch lower value than the SWL value
by using steel punching set.
