B. Performance Standard Is able to recognize and represent, ordinal numbers up to 100 th in various forms and context.
C. Learning Competencies The learner visualizes and give the place value and value of a digit in four to five digit
/Objective. Write the LC code numbers.

Mathematical Idea Every digit has its own value according to the place in the number. Zero (0) is a place holder.
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill HANGER MOBILE
There are pairs of numbers and its expanded form in the socks which are hang in a
hanger. Let the pupils get one sock and read it.
2. Review A. Write the numeral for each using the show me board.
1. 6 hundreds, 5 tens, 3 ones
2. 7 hundreds, 2 tens, 7 ones
B. Write your answer in the show me board. Raise your show me board when I tell you too.

3. Motivation Give each group two sets of number cards (numbers 0 through 9)
Directions: Each member of the group takes a number. As a number is called, group
members line to form that numbers.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presenting the lesson Story: Andy works in a poultry farm. Last week he gathered 98742 eggs.
Present a place value chart. Use the numbers that the pupils formed.

Read the first number in the chart. How many digits are there? What is the place value of 9?
8?7?4?2?Give the value of each digit.

2. Performing the Activity Group Activity


Gallery walk- Exercises are posted on the walls of the room.With allotted time, the group of
the pupils will walk throughout the classroom and answer the exercises until the given time
was finished.
3. Processing the Activity Ask the following question:
Which digit in card 1 is in thousands place? In ones place? And so on…
Ask the same questions for the rest of the given numbers.
4. Reinforcing the Concept Works by Pairs
Give the place place value and value of the underlined digit.

How many digits do numbers with thousands place value?

6. Application Cabbage Relay
With the music, pass the cabbage until the music stop. Get one piece of leaves and read.
If the statement is correct post it on the right corner of the board and if it is wrong, post it in
the left corner.
