I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of belief system or worldview*, Religion, Spirituality,
Philosophy of Religion, and Theology.
B. Performance The learner prepares character sketches of a person who is spiritual but not religious and a person
Standard who is religious but not spiritual.
C. Learning Competency Differentiate the concept, elements and characteristics of belief system, world view, religion, and
based on MELCs: spirituality HUMSS_WRB12- I/IIIa-1.1
D. Learning Objectives: At the end of this lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Define the meaning of religion and belief system;
b. Explain the role of religion in man’s existence and in the world;
c. Give importance on how religion and belief system are helpful towards personal outlook
in life.

B. ACTIVITY

Motivation “THINK-PAIR- AND SHARE”

1. The class will have an activity called “THINK-PAIR- AND SHARE”


2. The class will choose a pair to do the activity and each pair will interview their partner
3. They will be guided by a set of questions that needs to answer; and the partner will write all the information
4. They have 3 minutes to do the activity; afterwards the class will answer the processing questions

Guide Questions for the interview:


1. What is your religion?
2. Why did you choose this religion?
3. What influenced you to join this religion?
4. What beliefs or practices in your religion that you follow
faithfully?

C. Analysis – PROCESS QUESTIONS

1. The students will answer the following questions:

 How did you find the activity being done?


 From the activity being done, what do you think are the things we will be talking today?
 What do you feel about those questions being asked by your partner?

D. Abstraction

1. The teacher will conduct an interactive discussion on the lesson about the Understanding the Nature of Religion and Belief

2. The class will be divided into 4 groups. They will have a “Reporting”. Each group will be given a task; they need to
complete the table by providing information and write it in the circle. The group must select one leader to facilitate the task
and will have a representative to report. They will have 5 minutes to do the activity and two 2 minutes each group to discuss it
to the class. After which, the teacher will begin the discussion and elaborate the topic of each group. The group will be graded
according to the rubrics below:

After the discussion, the students will have an


answer the “GRAPHIC ORGANIZER”. The class will provide an
answer to the boxes below. They will be given 5 minutes to the
activity. Write their answer in a ½ sheet of paper.
Task 2:
F. Generalization
After the activity, the teacher will integrate the importance religion and belief systems in life by asking the following
questions.
Guide questions:
o What do you think is the contribution of understanding the religion and belief?
o Based on your observation, how did you define religion and belief as a whole?
o How does religion help explain man’s existence and man’s role in the world?

The teacher will then ask the students if they have any questions or clarifications.

3. Do you agree that the universe is designed and created by a single divine being or God? Explain your answer.
