Ande-Ande Lumut (AAL): Plan of Development
Heavy oil development is nothing new, but not without challenges. For
the AAL Oilfield, the challenges include managing the water and sand
production, fully understanding the long-term recovery potential of the
reservoir, and how best to achieve optimum production.
The approved development plan is to flow first oil from the AAL EPS
development by late 2026. To achieve this will require building an
offshore central production platform (CPP), drilling wells from this CPP
to produce up to 20 thousand barrels of oil a day, and converting an
appropriately sized tanker into an FSO.
