Before Starting

Required external hardware

o Power supply: 12-24 VDC
o Computer with Web browser

Factory settings

LAN IP address 10.0.0.53

LAN Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
o
WAN IP Address (if 2nd Eth. Port) 10.1.0.53

First connection guidelines included in the shipping box

For the first eWON connection always use the eWON LAN side.
13
Two Ways To Access

The eWON features a Web Server and an FTP Server

To connect to the Web server of the eWON:
o enter the eWON IP address in the URL field of your Web browser.
To connect to the FTP server of the eWON:
o enter ftp:// and the eWON IP address in the search field of Windows Explorer
To make these connections, your PC needs to be in the same IP range
as the eWON LAN port.
o Most likely, the default IP address of the eWON is NOT compatible with the IP
address of your PC or the equipment to connect
o Therefore we will start by setting the IP address of the eWON.
To set the IP address of the eWON, we will use eBuddy
o eBuddy can change the IP address of the eWON even if your PC and the
eWON are not in the same IP range
Default username/password
o adm/adm

14
Training IP Addresses Setup

For the eWON LAN IP range we will use 192.168.120.nnn

Hence, please set your IP addresses as follows:

o The Ethernet adapter of your PC

when you make a point-to-point connection to the eWON
IP address: 192.168.120.nnn with nnn = 100 + Group NBR
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

o The LAN interface of your eWON

IP address: 192.168.120.nnn with nnn = 200 + Group NBR
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

15
Setting IP Address w/eBuddy

1. Connect your PC network adapter with the LAN port of the eWON, at this
stage you don’t have to bother about the IP address of your PC, it doesn’t
matter.
2. Start eBuddy - Select Set IP Address

3. Set the eWON IP address to an address within the Machine LAN network (IP
range of the equipment/PLC to connect)
4. Wait until the eWON reboots

eBuddy features a list mode with context menu features

16
Browsing eWON’s Web Server

5. Now configure the network adapter of your PC with a fixed IP address

within the same range as the eWON (Machine LAN).
6. Open your Web browser
7. Enter the eWON IP address you just configured in the URL field & hit
Enter
o You can ignore the security warnings and continue.
8. Enter the default username & password
o Username: adm
o Password: adm
9. Observe the Main Menu

10. Click on Configuration and observe the Configuration menu

11. Use Configuration and Main Menu to toggle between both
