Before Starting

Required external hardware


o Power supply: 12-24 VDC
o Computer with Web browser

Factory settings

LAN IP address 10.0.0.53


LAN Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

o IP Address (if 2nd Eth. Port) DHCP, interface disabled

Access eWON webpage

The eWON features a Web Server


To connect to the Web server of the eWON:
o enter the eWON IP address in the URL field of your Web browser.
Default username/password
o adm/adm
To connect, your PC needs to be in the same IP range as the eWON
LAN port.
o Most likely, the default IP address of the eWON is NOT compatible with the IP
address of your PC or the equipment to connect
o Therefore we will start by setting the IP address of the eWON.
To set the IP address of the eWON, we will use eBuddy
o eBuddy can change the IP address of the eWON even if your PC and the
eWON are not in the same IP range

Setting IP Address using eBuddy

1. Connect your PC network adapter with the LAN port of the eWON
2. Start eBuddy - Select Set IP Address

3. Set the eWON IP address to an address within the Machine LAN network (IP
range of the equipment/PLC to connect)
4. Wait until the eWON reboots

eBuddy features a list mode with context menu features

Browsing eWON’s Web Server

5. Make sure the network adapter of your PC is within the same IP address range as
the eWON.
6. Open your Web browser
7. Enter the eWON IP address you just configured in the URL field & hit Enter
o You can ignore the security warnings and continue.
8. Enter the default username & password
o Username: adm
o Password: adm
9. The Status tab displays the current
status of the Talk2M connection
Use the Settings tab to configure
the eWON Cosy.

Training Network

On the training table we have two different networks


Machine LAN (=eWON LAN)
We will use network range: 192.168.140.xxx
To avoid IP address conflicts, use convention:
− eWON LAN IP: 192.168.140.20# Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
− Group# PC1 IP: 192.168.140.21# Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
− Group# PC2 IP: 192.168.140.22# Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

with # = Group number

Internet Access (=eWON WAN and PCs):


For eWON WAN use the blue cables
To connect your PC to Internet, use the white cable and connect it to the tiny
black switch.
Note: You’ll receive an IP address in range 192.168.107.xxx
