Assumptions & Objective
1. Assumptions
o The Talk2M account is configured (account & eWON created)
o Your eWON is configured and appears Online in eCatcher
2. Objective
o We will now connect to the target equipment behind the eWON
3
Establish the VPN Connection
if your eWON does not appear as being Online it might be because the
4
Internet access has been configured to be Physically Protected by the
Digital Input.
Active Connection Area
1. The eWON name as it has been created in your Talk2M account. Clicking on it opens the web
interface of the eWON.
2. VPN IP address of the eWON. It might be changed for maintenance reasons.
3. LAN IP address of the eWON (machine side).
4. Optional Description as entered when the eWON was created in your Talk2M account.
5. Devices connected to the eWON if you have specified them in your Talk2M account.
5
Software configuration
for Ethernet devices
Thanks to the VPN tunnel, you can set the application driver to map the local IP
address of the target equipment just as if you would have a local point-to-point
connection.
Don’t use the auto-detection or auto-browse mechanism of your software.

6
Software configuration
for serial sevices
If the serial protocol is supported by the eWON (*), then use the corresponding
Ethernet link inside the programming software. Configure the eWON LAN IP
address as destination address.
If the serial protocol is not supported by eWON, then you can use the VCOM
(virtual com) application.

Forgot your Talk2M Password?
If you forget your password, Talk2M has a rescue function that uses the email address you
declared when you created the user in Talk2M.
To use it on the eCatcher Login page click on the Forgot Password hyperlink.
A Talk2M web page opens in your default browser. Encode your Account and Username and click on
Reset Password. You’ll get an email with a temporary (2 hours) link allowing you to set a new password.

eCatcher Connection Settings
1. The eCatcher connection settings can be accessed from the Settings link on the login
page.
2. By default, eCatcher is configured in Auto-Detect mode. This means that eCatcher will
first try to establish the VPN connection in UDP mode and, if this does not work, it will
automatically fallback in TCP mode. Alternatively, you can force eCatcher to use only
one of the modes.
3. If you need to encode a Proxy Server for the Internet connection, then you must
configure the proxy settings here.
10
Web Mobile Access
M2Web can not be used for remote maintenance. Only use it for Web
11
access.
Web pages with Java applets are not supported.
