The topic of jamaat also need to be understood very well, the relationship of

Ahilik jamaat and Gulen jamaat. Factors to considered when discussing their
relationship..... Now that, Gulen movement has also been attached to be a
"periphery movement" ( Dr. Doğu Ergil) as it functions to integrate the 'periphery
groups' with centre and expand the centers. Thus the centre, it has been
transforming the system in the direction of pluralism and also has been providing
a dynamism of it.
The concept of "futuwwatnamas" of Abdallah al Suhrawardi 12th cent. Scholar is
something to be considered much. Since it was new to Turkish people during
those times, the Ahilik organization had to come up with conditions for people to
be in that group. The necessity of inclusiveness such of art or trade or other than
these, a profession. There was no place for idles and those who had no good
morality in the organization.
The comparison of Hizmet jamaat in turkey, first Gulen was very keen in
preserving the reli- gion fundamentalism. He had to analyze the roles of Religious
institution where they failed to rescue Islam of the people of turkey, after the
imposed rules by Kemalist reign. The first thing he did was to bring in the
awareness of what Muslims lacked and how they can compe- te with western
societies in terms of technology and science, ( statue of our souls). The aware ness
of Islam and modernity, the classical science with modern science, and modern
educa- tion where Madrasa education had failed to, (Mehmet Enes). And also
comparing the madrasa versus mektup school as Mehmet Enes elaborated it. Also
He had to keep in mind of finding ways on how to rescue those (youths) who were
already on their way to fanaticism and atheism,(Ghurabah). During his earlier
studies with the meeting of his Shaykh Alvar effendi known to be a Sufi master of
that time, he engaged Gulen in dhikri congregation. He had to study different
tariqas which had evolved in turkey, though no one has ever crowned him to
belong to a certain tariqas. But he is known to be a devoted man observing the
ways of his Sufi masters.
