The graph below depicts the demand for electricity in England during typical
days in winter and summer. The pie charts below shows how electricity is
used in an average home in the same country.

Summarize the information and compare where relevant, by selecting and

reporting the key features.

Answer :

The graphs give information about the daily demand for electricity units in winter and
summer and the types of electricity used in the average home of people in England.

Regarding the electricity demands, we see that the general trend is for the figure to
fluctuate over the period shown with the number for winter being higher than that for
summer. The demand in winter increases from around 35,000 to 40,000 between
00:00 AM and 03:00 AM followed by a decline at approximately 31,000 at 06:00 AM
while the demand in summer remains stable at about 18,000 – the lowest demand –
from 00:00 to 06:00 AM. At nearly 02:00 PM, the number in winter is more than twice
greater than that in summer, at almost 40,000 and 20,000 respectively. At around
10:00 PM, however, when the demand in summer is roughly 20,000, there is an
incline at almost 48,000 in winter.

As for electricity use, 52.5% of electricity is used for heating rooms and heating
water, the highest figure compared to the others, followed by electricity use for
ovens, kettles, and washing machines, at 17.5%. In addition, less than a fifth of the
total is used for the group of vacuum cleaners, food mixers, and electric tools as well
as the category of lighting, TV, and radio severally.

To sum up, the higher use of heating rooms and heating water might be
reflected in higher electricity demands in winter.

The bar chart below shows the estimated sales of jeans for two companies
next year in Turkey. The pie chart shows the projected market share of the
companies in jeans at the next year end.

Answer :

The charts give information about the sales (in thousands of pairs) for two
companies in the next year and also the percentage of the calculated market share
at the end of the period in Turkey.

Overall, the number of jeans sales in Jack and Jones Co. will be higher than those in
Mango Co., but in July and August, this will be reversed. In addition, the most
common trend is for estimating sales to decrease and then increase over the time
frame.

In January, the estimated sales in Jack and Jones Co. will be higher than those in
Mango Co., at around 450 and 150 respectively. Moreover, between February and
June, both companies will show a two-fold increase, at about 400 (Jack and Jones
Co.) and 200 (Mango Co.). However, sales by Mango Co. are predicted to be higher
than those by Jack and Jones Co. from July to August, where the former is
estimated to grow slightly from nearly 400 to 450, and the latter will remain stable at
400. Furthermore, between September and October, the estimated sales in Jack and
Jones Co. will remain constant, at roughly 400 followed by a noticeable incline at
approximately 900 in December. Meanwhile, the figure for Mango Co. will be
unchanged, at almost 500 from September to November before growing to about
600 in December.

The chart below shows the number of men and women in further education in
Britain in three periods and whether they were studying fulltime or part-time.

Answer :

The charts give information about the number of males and females choosing to
study full-time or part-time in the three periods in Britain between 1970 and 1991.

Overall, the general trend was for both genders to witness an increase over the
time frame, except for full-time study by men where the trend was reversed in two
early periods. Moreover, the number of participants studying full-time was higher
than part-time, where male numbers were much larger than female ones over the
period shown, except at the end of the period. – data unik

Regarding part-time, from 1970 to 1991, there was a two-fold incline in male
numbers, between about 100 and 200, while the total of females rose significantly,
from 20 – the lowest figures shown – to 200.

Turning to full-time study, approximately 700 females studied in the early period
before the number rose markedly to nearly 1100 at the end of the period, which was
the largest number shown. Nonetheless, the male figure declined slightly from
roughly 1000 to 820 between 1970 and 1981 before growing to nearly 900 at the end
of the period.

The chart below shows the percentage change in the share of international
students among university graduates in different Canadian provinces between
2001 and 2006.

Answer :

The chart illustrates the change of international-student percentage graduating from

university in 8 provinces in Canada from 2001 to 2006.

Overall, the general trend of the percentage change increased over the time frame.
Moreover, New Brunswick dominated other provinces in the number of international
student graduates.

In 2001, the figures for international students in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and
Quebec were quite similar, at around 6%, while in Alberta and British Columbia, at
about 4%. Furthermore, Manitoba and Newfoundland, and Labrador were very
similar, recorded at approximately 3.5%, while Ontario had the lowest figure shown,
at 3%.
Five years after, British Columbia experienced a nearly three-fold incline at 11%,
which was the greatest change for the figure shown, and Nova Scotia followed the
same pattern reaching the same level. However, there was a double increase in
Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario, at almost 6%. Besides, the
same happened in Quebec and Alberta with an upsurge to roughly 7%. Then, the
highest figure here was in New Brunswick, at 12%.
