Pablo Bronstein – Cuisine

Walther und Franz Koenig 2024 ISBN 9783753306735 Acqn 36040
Hb 18x24cm 196pp col ills £28

Pablo Bronstein's joyfully sardonic homage to the world of food, including recent paintings and
drawings, most of them reproduced for the first time, and 27 photographs by the artist, covering
food production from factories to desserts.

With full-colour images and details of thirty-five recent paintings and drawings, covering vast
aspects of food production and presentation, Cuisine spins a narrative of surreal excess and
decadence. The paintings depict a compendium of factories, implements, cutlery, and actual
foodstuffs in Bronstein's signature irreverent and historic style. Most of the works are reproduced
here for the first time and are accompanied by descriptive captions penned by the artist. A further
twenty-seven black-and-white photographs were taken by Bronstein especially for the publication,
showcasing cakes and desserts, sculpted by him, that evoke the unpalatable and overwrought
creations found in early twentieth-century recipe books.

Jeff Cowen - Provence Works

Walther und Franz Koenig 2024 ISBN 9783753306667 Acqn 36043
Hb 17x22cm 72pp col ills £31.50

The light and the beauty of Provence, captured in photographs by Jeff Cowen, whose
experimental work with the photographic process makes every print reminiscent of a painting.

In a world that is dominated by digital screens, technology, and speed, Jeff Cowen seeks to draw
our attention to the sublime experience of nature's beauty through his work. The artist makes
large analogue prints on thick photographic paper and experiments with the chemicals that he
uses for the photographic development process, which makes every print unique. His work, like
van Gogh's 130 years before him, reveals the power and beauty of nature in Provence: from the
immensity of mountain landscapes and fields to the smallest detail found in a simple leaf or fruit.
Including facsimiles on the endpapers taken from various sketchbooks of the artist.
