TASK OVERVIEW:
You will collaborate (in assigned groups of 2-3 students), to identify and
research your own ancient history question, and communicate your
conclusions in a creative format.

DUE DATES

 Research notes and conclusions due: Friday Week 9 (24 June)

 Creative presentation due: Friday Week 10 (1 July)

Note: You will be assessed as a group on an ongoing basis over Weeks 7-10
as you work on this project

*You may only choose to research Ancient Rome with permission from your
teacher, as this topic will be used as an example in lessons.

WHAT TO SUBMIT:
1. RESEARCH FOLDER - Due Friday 24 June 2. CREATIVE PRESENTATION - Due Friday 1 July

As a group you be required to keep a research
folder with all your research notes and group
planning. Your teacher will use this to assess your
progress and give you feedback every week. This
means you must keep this organised and ready
for your teacher to view at every lesson.
Your research folder should include:
 Your goals and reflections on your
collaboration
 Brainstorms / KWL charts
 Research questions
 List of sources
 Research notes
 Final conclusions
 Planning for your creative presentation
As a group, you will present your research
findings in a creative format of your choice.
Possible formats include:
 Museum exhibit / 3D Model
 Song (or a parody song)
 Filmed skit / performance
 Animated video
 Book
 Website
 Any other creative format

HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED:

You will be assessed as a group on the following skills: collaboration, questioning and
researching, analysing, evaluating, and communicating.

Your teacher will assess you and give you feedback on your progress each week. You should
reflect on this feedback as a group, and set goals to improve. Where you have demonstrated
improvement in skills, your teacher will reflect this in your final mark.
