A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH) TO
INSTALL THREE (3) SLOW DOWN SIGNAGE AND TO BE INSTALLED IN THREE (3) DESIGNATED AREAS, ALONG THE
BARANGAY MULTIPURPOSE HALL WHERE A BARANGAY DAY CARE CENTER IS LOCATED, ALONG THE BOUNDARY OF
CALAMPITAO-GINES WHERE A PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN IS LOCATED AND ALONG BARANGAY PLAZA AND BARANGAY
CHAPEL FOR THE SAFETY OF PEDESTRIANS ESPECIALLY THE PUPILS OF BARANGAY GINES, MIAGAO, ILOILO

WHEREAS, the safety and welfare of the residents of Barangay Gines is of paramount importance to the Sangguniang Barangay;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Barangay has received numerous complaints from residents regarding speeding vehicles in the national highway
along the Boundary of Barangay Calampitao – Gines which pose a serious threat to the safety of pedestrians and motorists due to blind curve and
where the school, Miracle Christian Learning Center of Miagao is located ;

WHEREAS, installing slow down signage within the vicinity of the Barangay Multipurpose Hall where the Barangay Day Care center is located will
serve as a proactive measure to promote road safety and prevent accidents;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Barangay acknowledges the increasing vehicular traffic around the barangay plaza and barangay chapel, posing
potential risks to pedestrians and worshippers, especially to youth and children;

WHEREAS, installing slow down signage has been proven effective in reminding motorists to reduce their speed, thus promoting a safer
environment for pedestrians, especially children;

WHEREAS, it is imperative to implement measures to mitigate the risks associated with speeding vehicles and ensure the safety of all individuals
traversing the said roads and safety of pupils are of utmost importance at all times;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Barangay Kagawad Alfredo T. Montehermoso Jr. and seconded by Barangay Kagawad Analyn C. Ferando;

BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to respectfully request the Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways
(DPWH) to install three (3) slowdown signage along National Highway in Barangay Gines at strategic locations to deter speeding and enhance road
safety, specifically in the vicinity of Barangay Gines Day Care Center, Miracle Christian Learning Center of Miagao and along Barangay Plaza and
Barangay Chapel for the safety of pedestrians especially the pupils of Barangay Gines, Miagao, Iloilo;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished to the Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for
their appropriate action.
