David Talley believes in a necessary resolution.
An internationally recognized photographer and educator operating
out of Portland, his work exhibits the darkest moment before an
explosion of light. His imagery is marked by a story broken, but
changed for the better, and the ability to transform the present
problem in to a prospering future.

Studio-dance photographer Alexander Yakovlev makes his images of
professional dancers come alive by adding dynamic elements like
exploding flour.
The Moscow resident is a graduate from the faculty of law at the
Russian State University For the Humanities, but it’s clear from his
work here that rhetoric isn’t his only specialty. Yakovlev’s photos
span a wide spectrum of dance styles, from ballet to break-dancing,
but it was his flour-filled photo “Big bang theory” that has garnered
the most recent attention.

Simon McCheung came from a small town called Grimsby, UK. Which he later
attended Surrey Institute of Art and Design to study animation film. He
is now currently working in London as a graphic designer for video games
developer, Rocksteady/Warner Bros. However his photography career only
started in 2012 which lead to exhibiting some of his work at the Saatchi
Gallery in London and he continues to coexists his passion for
photography with his full time job.

McCheung began to use self-portrait as a means to self teach himself the

technical aspects of photography, which quickly grew into one of the
main subject matters of his now current fine art journey. The evolution
came about when he was seeking ways to engage his self created stories
and to express his own psyche.

The goal was to imprint memorible stories to his viewers which even
though the images are of a single frame into his world. He invites the

(1976) Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Chris Kovacs is an award winning
photographer best known for his multiple exposure black-and-white
photography.

Chris is fascinated with science, particularly with quantum mechanics and

the possibility of a multiverse, or multiple, parallel universes, which
also sets the stage for his style of photographic works. Chris is also
interested in exploring dreams, the subconscious mind and memory.

Chris' photography focuses primarily on scenes containing elements of

architecture and people. Chris captures "in camera" multiple-exposures of
the same scene from different angles and later combines several multi-
ple-exposure photographs together to form a single image.

When asked about his photographic style Chris responds

“It’s Multiplexualization.” Multiplexualization is a term Chris has
coined.

It is the digital layering of many different multiple-exposure photographs

to form a single image which deliberately depicts a dreamlike quality.
Multiplex, in this case, means: many elements in a complex relationship,
where ualization represents the single, final image–the deliberate
dreamlike visual.

Drive Through, New York City, USA.

Kindra Nikole is a Seattle-based mixed-media artist whose work draws on
natural settings to create surreal, otherworldly images. Kindra manifests
fantastical realities in her images, oftentimes with a hint of dark
allure. Her works tend toward vibrant, rich colors and typically feature a
solitary figure immersed in nature.

Kindra creates many of the sets, props, and costumes seen in her images.
She then captures the intricacy of the moment with her trusty camera, Sir
Didymus, and spends a great deal of time editing the image on her
computer. The image is then printed onto giclée paper and treated as her
underpainting layer, which is mounted onto a wood panel. Kindra then
embellishes the piece with acrylics and sometimes metal-leaf techniques,
creating a unique, beautiful painting. Finally, Kindra glazes the entire
piece with a resin coating, creating a lustrous, glasslike presentation
which also seals and protects the image.

As a native to the Pacific Northwest and avid lover of the great outdoors,
Kindra's profound admiration of nature is harnessed as a foundation in all
of her work. Kindra believes that the mystery and magic of nature is a
boundless well of inspiration. Outside her passionate pursuit of art,
Kindra enjoys yoga, snowboarding, longboarding, hiking with her dog
Ziggy, and reading.

St. Petersburg-based Russian photographer Eduard Gordeev captures delicate
cityscape scenes by taking photos in the rain. Flowing rain drops blur the
colors and diffuse light, resulting in photos that have a strong
resemblance to Impressionist oil paintings.
Though the series mostly features Russia’s St. Petersburg and its widely
recognized landmarks, some captivating shots from Lisbon can be found
there as well. Nothing gloomy about the rain here, just pure Russian
romance.

Karen Knorr was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and was raised in San
Juan, Puerto Rico in the 1960s. She finished her education in Paris and
London. Karen has taught, exhibited and lectured internationally,
including at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, The University of Westminster,
Goldsmiths, Harvard and The Art Institute of Chicago. She studied at the
University of Westminster in the mid-1970s, exhibiting photography that
addressed debates in cultural studies and film theory concerning the
‘politics of representation’ practices which emerged during the late
1970s qnd early 1980s. She is currently Professor of Photography at the
University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey.

Karen Knorr produced Belgravia (1979-1981) a series of black and white

photographs with ironic and humorous texts that highlighted aspirations,
lifestyle and the British class system under the neo liberalist Thatcher
era in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Her most well known work called G
entlemen (1981-1983) was photographed in Saint James’s clubs in London
and investigated the patriarchal conservative values of Britain during
the Falklands war. Karen ’s work developed a critical and playful dia-
logue with documentary photography using different visual and textual
strategies to explore her chosen subject matter that ranges from the
family and lifestyle to the animal and its representation in the museum
context.

In 1986 her work Connoisseurs used colour to explore connoisseurship

regarding authenticity, heritage and art in England. Here she introduced
elements and staged events in the architectural interiors of Chiswick
House, Osterley Park House and the Dulwich Picture Gallery. The use of
text and captioning appeared as a device to slow down consumption of the
image and to comment on the received ideas of fine art in museum culture.
These strategies still appear in her photography today with digital col-
lage of animals, objects and social actors in museums and architecture
challenging the authority and power of heritage sites in Europe and more
recently in India.
