danger during hoisting.

 Ensure that the lifting eyes are attached strong enough for the
lifting operation.

 Hoisting steel ropes are then placed to the lifting eyes and the
mobile crane.

 The transformer is then lifted-up 300mm above the ground for 30

seconds. Observation for any abnormalities is made.

 If nothing is unusual, the transformer is then hoisted-up.

 The transformer is then lowered down at the unloading point.

 It will then be rolled into the Transformer Room by the means of

manpower pushing the transformer which is supported by four
bi-directional wheels.

 The transformer is then raised-up by hydraulic jacks and then be

5.0 INSTALLATION OF TRANSFORMER

1) All transformers shall be installed level and plumb.

2) When working on the transformer, ensure that the coils are shielded by a
suitable sheet in order to prevent small parts such as washers, bolts and nuts
from failing into the coils.

3) Do not step on the interphase lead when working on the transformer.

4) Remove any dust or grit from terminals and coils using dry cotton waste. Do
not use benzene or other solvents for cleaning.

5) Check tightness of primary and secondary terminals.

6) Check grounding terminals for good connection to earth.

7) Check that the tap is in its correct position and also the tightness of the tap
changer.

8) Test the alarm circuit of the thermometer and also the temperature monitoring
circuits.

6.0 INSTALLATION OF HV AND LV CONNECTIONS

1) HV connections are terminated via 3C x 240mm² 11kV AL XLPE/SCT/PE/PE

( TNB Spec ) cables to the respective HT Switchgear Panel.

2) LV connections are terminated via Busduct to the respective Main Switch

Board Panel.

3) In both cases, the cables and busducts must be supported to avoid mechanical
stress on the HV or LV terminals.

4) The HV conductors are coming from above directly to the connection terminal.
The incoming conductors are passed through the removable plate located at the
top of the HV side.

5) The HV cables are fastened inside the enclosure on the HV side panel.

6) The LV busduct is coming from above directly to the connection terminal by

the means of Flanged End mounted at the top of the enclosure on the LV side

panel. Flexible copper conductors are used to connect the terminals from the
Transformer and the Flanged End Busduct.

7) Extra care has to be taken when jointing the busduct with the transformer.
Apply the manufacturer’s recommended clamping torque for the conductor
clamping bolt. The phase of the busduct is matched with the phase of the
transformer before termination is done. This shall be reflected in shop drawing.

8) All bolted electrical connections must be well tightened, including those of the
protection cover of the terminals, if provided.

7.0 EARTHING

1. A length of 1C x 95mm² Copper Earth Cable is run from Transformer Frame

Earth to the main earthing bar (Frame Earth) which is mounted at the internal
wall of the Transformer Room.

2. Transformer Frame Earth point is provided on each of the bottom core support
of the transformer.

3. For Transformer Neutral Earth, a length of 1C x 120/185/240 mm 2 1/C PVC

copper cable (to refer as below table) is run from the Transformer Neutral of
the LV terminal to the Neutral Earth Point mounted at the internal wall of the
Transformer Room. A length of 95mm² 1/C PVC copper cable is installed and
connects to earth test pit. Inspection form to be submitted after installation of
equipment.

 TX-SO1-1 by using 1C x 185mm² Copper Cable

 TX-SO1-2 by using 1C x 185mm² Copper Cable
 TX-SO1-3 by using 1C x 120mm² Copper Cable
 TX-ENT-1 by using 1C x 240mm² Copper Cable
 TX-ENT-2 by using 1C x 240mm² Copper Cable
 TX-ENT-3 by using 1C x 240mm² Copper Cable
 TX-ENT-4 by using 1C x 240mm² Copper Cable

determined if it is suitable to deliver the equipment will be checked.

 All obstacles and rubbish shall be removed from the switch room and the
equipment is ensured that it is small enough to fit through doors or
openings.

 To ensure that the mobile crane would have the PMA certificate and JKKP
certificate for the mobile crane operator prior to the un-loading.

 Perimeter of un-loading area should be set up barricade as precaution
