INTRODUCTION

Science equipment, also known as laboratory apparatuses, refers to the various tools used by scientists to measure and
store solid, liquid, and gaseous materials. These tools are essential in conducting experiments, testing hypotheses, and
solving real-world problems. In schools, students use similar tools to perform science experiments, gaining hands-on
experience with scientific concepts.

I. OBJECTIVES
1. Identify common science equipment.
2. Determine the use of common science equipment.
3. Safely handle and store common science equipment, following proper laboratory procedures.

II. MATERIALS
*The following materials will be provided in the laboratory.
beaker test tube watch glass funnel

Erlenmeyer flask test tube holder spatula digital weighing balance

graduated cylinder test tube rack stirring rod

III. PROCEDURE

General Instruction:
Before starting the experiment, be familiar with the provided science equipment. Prepare a 55-mL blue liquid solution
by following the tasks below. Determine the necessary equipment or tools to be used for each task. Observe safety and
proper handling of materials.

Task A. Measuring
1. Measure exactly 26 mL of water for your experiment. Pour the water into a beaker. Determine the appropriate
equipment to use to measure this amount accurately. Record your answer in Table 1.
2. Measure exactly 5 g of the blue powder. Determine the equipment to use to measure this amount accurately.
Record your answer in Table 1.

Task B. Transferring
3. After measuring 26 mL of water and 5 g of blue powder, carefully transfer the 26 mL of water and 5 g of blue
powder to the large container. Determine the tool and large container to be used most for the precise
transferring of the powder and water.

Task C. Mixing
4. Mix thoroughly with the water. Determine the equipment to use to ensure complete mixing of the powder in the
water.

Task D. Pouring
5. Pour a small amount of blue liquid from the beaker into a test tube. Determine the proper tool to use in order to
pour the small amount of the blue liquid into a test tube without spilling the liquid.

Task E. Storing
6. After your experiment, store any leftover blue liquid for future use. Determine the equipment to use in order to
store any leftover blue liquid for future use.
