Sikkim Professional University earlier named as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University was established
in the year 2008 by SPU (Act No.11 of 2008) of Sikkim State Assembly. It has been renamed as Sikkim
Professional University Amendment Act, 2020 (Act No. 09 of 2020). Duly recognized by the
University Grants Commission (UGC)
Sikkim Professional University is a prominent name in higher education committed to academic
excellence. We are one of the largest and most diverse universities in northern India imparting
quality education since 2008. We are a leading university for higher education located on an
extensive state-of-the-art campus at East Sikkim; NH 31-A Tadong, Gangtok.

Accreditations and Recognitions of SPU

Sikkim Professional University earlier named as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University is a private
university founded in the year 2008 under (Act No. 11 of 2008) of Sikkim State Assembly. The
university is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC), Association of
Indian Universities (AIU), The Indian Nursing Council (INC), The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), The
Sikkim Nursing Council (SNC).

University Authorisation Letter and Panel

There are 2 ways to tie-up with the university. One is offline counsellor id which is made without any
charges and second is via authorisation letter which is chargeable. An Authorization Letter sample is
also attached in this mail. In both ways, payments are taken in the university account. University also
provides an online panel to view admissions.
In case of bulk admissions this letter and panel is provided for free.

List Of Documents Required For Admission:

1. Filled up Admission form 2. Class X Mark-Sheet 3. Class XII Marks-Sheet 4. Under-Graduate Marks-
Sheets 5. Post-Graduate Marks-Sheets 6. One ID proof 7. One coloured Photo. These documents you
need to send through email. After receiving the documents, the university needs to verify whether
the student is eligible or not for admission. Once verified the documents, then we send the payment
excel, after deducting your share. Deposit payment in the University Account. Once the payment is
confirmed within 2-3 days, then the university will send enrolment numbers. Enrolment numbers
can be checked only on the University website.
