MITIGATION MEASURES

LAND FORM
 Change the methodology or process e.g. instead of blasting use chiseling
 Slope should be stable by monitoring stepping benching gentling the slope
angle, by making retaining wall
 Provide drainage of water channel
 Plant vegetation
 Wind barrier use
 use Terries
 reduce soil exposure type
 proper drainage

AIR QUALITY
 change the fuel type
 use efficient fuel
 use filters
 don’t leave the land bare cover it as soon as possible
 maintain the vehicles that used in operation construction and design
phase

WATER
 provide provision of drainage system
 better sanitation water supply system
 vegetation
 monitoring
 provide sanitation facilities
 provide separate system for domestic effluents and drinking water

45
Chapter Seven Mitigation Measure

 panelize the polluter

 use disinfectants
 provide treatment plant or filter plant
 provide separate system for storm water

SOLID WASTE
 use the lime stone in the road construction and the project site
 sale the remaining construction waste
 provide community bins at proper distances
 proper disposal site
 crate awareness
 communication by sign boards or slogan
 activity should be ecotourism
 waste collection system should not only the CDGL but also NGO’S should
take a part in it
 provide proper facilities for waste disposal

NOISE
 use noise barriers like plants
 use PPE’S to save workers like ear muffs
 proper maintained of vehicles
 less pressure horns

LAND USE
 Land clearance should be reduced.
 Vegetation along the both sides of the roads.

NATURAL RESOURCES
 Use local natural resources.
 Don’t over exploitation of the resources.

46
Chapter Seven Mitigation Measure

 Sustainable use of resources.

 Less use of resources
ENERGY
 Use efficient machinery
 Use cheaper fuel.
 Proper transportation of he fuel and no leakage.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
 Provide proper speed limits.
 Use reflective mirrors.
 Provide barriers to the shoulder of road at the side of cliff to stop the
accident.
 Provide trained and active traffic police to monitor the high speed vehicles.
 Avoid over loading

POLICE SERVICE
 Provide emergency exit.
 Provide rescue team.
 Provide fire alarms/

UTILITIES
 Provide communication system
 Provide emergency help line
 Provide wireless communication system by wireless forms, radios, and TV

POPULATION
 Provide better facilities

ACCIDENTAL RISKS
 Prepare emergency plans

47
Chapter Seven Mitigation Measure

 Proper monitoring of slope

 No health risks
HUMAN HEALTH
 Provision of first aid
 Provision of medical facilities
 Provision of medical staff

COMMUNITY REACTION
 Provide incentives to local
 Don’t effects the cultural norms
 Without effecting their life style their norms and culture
 Create awareness by arranging workshops
 And consensus is done by combining all stake holders

ASTHETICS
 Proper waste management
 Don’t cut the trees

7.1 Environmental Management Plan

Environmental Management offers research and opinions on use and

conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats and control of hazards,
spanning the field of applied ecology without regard to traditional disciplinary
boundaries. The journal aims to improve communication, making ideas and
results from any field available to practitioners from other backgrounds.
Contributions are drawn from biology, botany, climatology, ecology, ecological
economics, environmental engineering, fisheries, environmental law, forest
sciences, geology, information science, public affairs, zoology and more.

7.2 Staff and training

7.2.1 Environmental Committee and its responsibilities:
A committee is formed which is entrusted witrh the following:

 Integrate sustainability into institutional and master planning

 Develop an action plan for achieving climate neutrality
 Bring sustainability

7.3 Environmental Monitoring plan

7.3.1 Construction Stage

Air Quality
During the construction phase of the project, air is being contaminated due to
different emissions and pollutants. A proper management plan is carried out for
avoiding air pollution. The emissions are measured and observed if they exceed
the National Environmental Quality Standards, then it should be recovered by
improving the vehicles maintenance.

7.3.2 Operational Phase

Air Quality
Implementation of strict traffic rules to avoid any road accidents which may lead
to excessive air pollution if fire erupts Enforcement of standards to reduce
emissions from motor vehicles. Create awareness in the local residence.
