Summary (Earthwork & Geotechnical)

This project involves comprehensive earthwork and geotechnical activities necessary

for the construction of a school for mentally retarded children. The scope includes site
clearance, excavation, filling, and the construction of foundation elements, ensuring the site is
prepared to support the planned structures. The key components are outlined as follows:

Earthwork and Geotechnical Activities:

1. Site Clearance:
- Removal of undergrowth, bushes, scrub, hedges, and trees.
- Grubbing up roots and filling voids left by their removal.
- Ensuring the site is clear for further construction activities.

2. Earthwork Cutting and Filling:

- Cutting and filling earth to achieve required formation levels.
- Grading slopes as per engineer's specifications.

3. Excavation of Topsoil:
- Careful excavation and preservation of topsoil.
- Ensuring topsoil is removed and stored appropriately for future use.

4. Deposition of Topsoil:
- Spreading and levelling topsoil in designated areas.
- Ensuring proper deposition to enhance site quality.

5. Pit Excavation:
- Excavation of pits to a maximum depth not exceeding 1 meter for various pile
caps:
 Type 2 Pile Cap
 Type 3 Pile Cap
 Type 1 Pile Cap

6. Filling to Excavation:
- Filling excavated areas with material arising from the excavation.
 - Ensuring the stability and proper compaction of filled areas.

7. Extra Over (E.O.) Excavation in Rock:

- Additional excavation tasks involving rock.
- Ensuring safe and efficient removal of rocky materials.

8. Surface Water Management:

- Measures to keep the site and excavation areas free from surface water.
- Ensuring proper drainage and water management during construction.

Structural Foundation Activities:

1. Concrete Work (Foundation Pile Cap):

- Pouring and setting concrete for foundation pile caps.
- Ensuring quality and durability of concrete work.

2. Reinforcement (Foundation Pile Cap):

- Installation of reinforcement bars in foundation pile caps.
- Ensuring structural strength and integrity.

3. Formwork (Foundation Pile Cap):

- Constructing formwork for shaping and supporting concrete in foundation pile
caps.
- Ensuring accurate dimensions and shapes.

4. Concrete Work (Column Stump):

- Pouring and setting concrete for column stumps.
- Ensuring quality and durability of concrete work.

5. Reinforcement (Column Stump):

- Installation of reinforcement bars in column stumps.
- Ensuring structural strength and integrity.
 6. Formwork (Column Stump):
- Constructing formwork for shaping and supporting concrete in column stumps.
- Ensuring accurate dimensions and shapes.
This project aims to prepare the site and foundational elements for the construction of
a school dedicated to children with special needs. The allocated budget of RM 180,000 will
cover all necessary earthwork, excavation, and foundation construction activities, ensuring a
solid and stable base for the ensuing construction phases. The project will be carried out to the
highest standards, ensuring safety, stability, and quality throughout.
