 BASIC PRICIPLES
INTRODUCTION
 “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost,
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?“ 1
Corinthians 6:19.

CREATION & REDEMPTION
 ” Let us make a man in our image, after our likeness…” Genesis 1:26.
 ”For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God‘s.” 1 Corinthians 6:20. ”…with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”
1 Peter 1:19.
 PURPOSE
 ”Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy soul prospereth” 3 John 2.
 ”And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread and thy
water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee” Exodus 23:25.
 CONDITIONS
 ”If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do
that which is right in his eyes, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep
all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have
brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee” Exodus
15:26
 1 “Hearken to the voice” Pay attention to the Word of God
 2. “Do that which is right” =Practice what is good before God
 3. “Give ear “= Pay attention to God’s commandments
 4. “keep”= Obey God’s commandments
 Herb bearing seed’ =
 Genesis 1:29. NUTS .
 ”And God said: Behold,  ’ in which is fruit of a tree
I have given you every yielding seed’ = FRUIT

of all the earth, and
every in which is the

for meat”
The diet for Adam and Eve before sin
 Genesis 3:17-19
 … and thou shalt eat the herb of the
field’ Genesis 3:18
 ’… and thou shalt eat the herb of the
field’ Genesis 3:18 = Vegetables, legumes,
roots, oleaginous. etc.
 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth
to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
 Genesis 3:22-24
 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the
man is become as one of us, to know good and
evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take
also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth
from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from
whence he was taken.
 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed
at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims,
and a flaming sword which turned every way, to

liveth shall be meat for you; even
as the green herb have I given you
all things.
4 But flesh with the life thereof,
[which is] the blood thereof, shall

4A THE WILDERNESS

Then said the Lord unto Moses: behold I will rain bread
from heaven …And the house of Israel called the name
thereof Manna; and it was like coriander seed, white, and
the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.” Exodus
16:4, 31 = Seed
”And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying: I have heard the
murmurings of the children of Israel; speak unto them,
saying: At eve ye shalt eat flesh …” Exodus 16.11, 12.
”…ye shall eat flesh: for you have wept in the ears of the Lord … Ye
shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days,
nor twenty days; but even a whole month , until it come out of your
nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised
the Lord …” Numbers 11:18 – 20.
To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, the beast that
may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.’ Leviticus 11:47.
’…Ye shall eat no manner of fat…” Leviticus 7:23.
’Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood…” Leviticus 7:26.
“but the remainder …on the third day, shall be burnt with
fire” Leviticus 7:17.
MANNA
Numbers 11:7 And the manna [was] as coriander seed, and the colour
thereof as the colour of bdellium.
11:8 [And] the people went about, and gathered [it], and ground [it] in
mills, or beat [it] in a mortar, and baked [it] in pans, and made cakes of
it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
11:9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell
upon it.
Exodus 16:35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until
they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto
the borders of the land of Canaan.
“But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of
thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and
there thou shalt do all that I command thee. .
Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy
gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the
blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee:
the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the
roebuck, and as of the hart. ” Deuteronomy 12:14, 15
’…Ye shall eat no manner of fat…” Leviticus 7:23.
’Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood…” Leviticus
7:26.

[there shall be] a day of atonement: it shall be an
holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your
souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the
LORD.

[is] a day of atonement, to make an atonement for
you before the LORD your God.
And behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep,
eating flesh, and drinking wine:…Surely this iniquity shall not
be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.’
Isaiah 22:13, 14.
’Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood…” Leviticus 7:26.
Vision on Health Reform
I have had great light from the Lord upon the subject
of health reform. I did not seek this light; I did not
study to obtain it; it was given to me by the Lord to
give to others.”

“It was in the 1860”s-the decade of two basic health
reform visions(June 6,1863 and Dec.25, 1865)...
December 10, 1871, I was again shown that the health reform
is one branch of the great work which is to fit a people for the
coming of the Lord. It is as closely connected with the third
angel's message as the hand is with the body. The law of ten
commandments has been lightly regarded by man; but the
Lord would not come to punish the transgressors of that law
without first sending them a message of warning. The third
angel proclaims that message. Had men ever been obedient to
the law of ten commandments, carrying out in their lives the
principles of those precepts, the curse of disease now flooding
the world would not be. {CD 69.1}

meat-eating in relation to health, I have left the use of meat. 4SG

A LESSON FOR US
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they
are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
1 Corinthians 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were
overthrown in the wilderness.
10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil
things, as they also lusted.
LUSTS
Numbers 11:4 And the mixed multitude that [was] among them fell a lusting: and the
children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
11:5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the
melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:
11:6 But now our soul [is] dried away: [there is] nothing at all, beside this manna,
[before] our eyes.
MANNA FOR FORTY YEARS
Nehemiah 9:20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and
withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for
their thirst.
9:21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, [so
that] they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet
swelled not.
Return to the Original Diet
God is trying to lead us back, step by step, to His original design--that
man should subsist upon the natural products of the earth. Among those
who are waiting for the coming of the Lord meat eating will eventually
be done away; flesh will cease to form a part of their diet. We should
ever keep this end in view and endeavor to work steadily toward it. CD

There are those who ought to be awake to the danger
of meat eating who are still eating the flesh of animals,
thus endangering the physical, mental, and spiritual
health. Many who are now only half converted on the
question of meat eating will go from God's people, to
walk no more with them. RH May 27, 1902.
Vegetables, fruits, and grains should compose our diet.
Not an ounce of flesh meat should enter our stomachs.
The eating of flesh is unnatural. We are to return to
God's original purpose in the creation of man.” CD

 7.HEAVEN

’…shall grow all tree for meat … And the fruit

thereof shall be for meat …’ Ezekiel 47:12 = Fruits.
’…to him that over cometh will i give to eat of the
hidden manna…’ Revelation 2:17 = Seeds.

BASIC PRINCIPLES
1.ABSTINENCE FROM ALCOHOL
„Do not drink wine nor strong drink, nor thy sons with
thee…” Leviticus 10:9.
2. REGULAR EATING TIMES
”… eat in due season…” Ecclesiastes 10:17.
3. EAT IN ORDER TO LIVE
”… eat … for strength, and not for drunkenness” Ecclesiastes
10:17.
4. PROPER REST
”…Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a
while” Mark 6:31.
5. CONTROL OF INSTINCT
”But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection …” 1
Corinthians 9:27.
6. JOY
”A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” Proverbs 17:22.
7. PLEASANT WORDS
”Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and
health t the bones” Proverbs 16:24.
8. NOT TO LIVE IN ORDER TO PLEASE APPETITE
”Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly …”
Philippians 3:19.
9. PLEASANT ENVIRONMENT
“Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a
stalled ox and hatred therewith.” Proverbs
15:17.
10. DO EVERYTHING TO THE GLORY OF
GOD
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or
whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” 1
Corinthians 10:31.
