LESSON-2
Practical Research – II
QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
Example:
Independent Variable: Involvement in Online Games
Dependent Variable: Students’ Academic Performance
Intervening Variable: Effect
Moderating Variable: Students’ Gender
Formulating the Research Title:
The formula shows below serves as a guide on how variables will be used to
formulate a research title. There are two formulas will be selected based on the
researchers’ preference.
1. Int+IV+DV+Target Participants+Locale
Example:
“The Effect of Involvement in Online Games on the
Academic Performance among Students of
Crisostomo Ibarra National High School”
2. IV: Int+DV+Target Participants+Locale
Example:
“Involvement in Online Games: Its Effect on the Academic
Performance among the Students of Crisostomo
Ibarra National High School”
ACTIVITY NO. 1: FORMULATE A RESEARCH TITLE
Directions: On the students’ activity notebook (per group), they are going to identify the
different variables and formulate a research title. Afterwards, they have to present it to
the teacher to validate in terms of its correctness, accuracy, significance, and
researchability.
Note: The students have to be certain with the research title that they formulated. This
title shall be use for them to proceed on the next activity, and for research development
as final.
