DISCUSSION
 Research. The systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources
in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.
 Practical Research – II. This course develops critical thinking and problem-
solving skills through quantitative research.
Differences between Qualitative and Quantitative Research
 Quantitative research deals with numbers and statistics, while qualitative
research deals with words and meanings.
 Qualitative Research involves analyzing & interpreting text, interviews, and
observations. qualitative research refers to a broad family of research
methodologies.

Impact of Research:
1. Academic. Contribution to advances across and within disciplines, including
significant advances in understanding, method, theory, and application.
2. Cultural. Contributions to people’s understanding of ideas and reality, values,
and belief.
3. Economic. Contribution to a company’s costs and revenues (micro level), and
economic returns through increased productivity or economic growth.
4. Educational. Contribution to education, training, and capacity-building, including
through curricula, educational tools, and qualifications.
5. Environmental. Contributions to managing the environment, such as protecting
natural resources, reducing environmental pollution, improving weather
foecasting, and tackling the climate crises.
6. Health. Contribution to public health, life expectancy, health-related quality of life,
prevention of illness, and reduced health inequiality.
7. Political. Contribution to how policymakers act, to how policies are constructed,
and to political stability.
8. Social. Contribution to community welfare and quality of life, and behaviors,
practices, and activities of people and groups.
