Description of assessment tasks:


 Class work (20%) – includes worksheets, productions (e.g. posters, playdough models,
oral reports, quizzes) and class participation
 Empirical research investigation reports (20%) – formal in-class investigations using
experimental or non-experimental approach. One per semester; class data used to
present the findings of the investigation, submitted as a poster or written report
 Scientific Inquiry (20%) – library search of current findings about a specified topic.
Summary of findings submitted as a written report, poster or pamphlet. One scientific
inquiry per semester.
 Topic Tests (40%) – one test per term covering topics discussed during the term
