Factors:
I chose Medical Technology as my course because it can contribute directly
in healthcare, making a positive impact on the well-being of individuals and
communities. I was attracted to it as they provide opportunities to engage in
meaningful research projects that can lead to advancements in healthcare
technology. It contributes to the development of new medical devices, diagnostic
tools, and treatment modalities, ultimately advancing the field and improving patient
care. The demand for skilled med tech professionals is often high, leading to
competitive salaries, which is one of the most reason why I chose this course. As a
person who also loves to do research and is full of curiosity, I chose this course
because I think it’s the right one for me.
Purpose:
Medical technologists play a crucial role in the healthcare system. Their
primary purpose is to perform laboratory tests and analysis which aids in the
diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Medical technologists conduct a
variety of laboratory tests on patient samples, such as blood, urine, tissues, and
other body fluids. These tests help in the accurate diagnosis of diseases and
conditions. They serve as an instrument of the doctors by being an assist in treating
patients.

Plan:
As a Senior High Student, I should learn more about the role of being a
medical technologist, their responsibilities, and the various specializations within the
field. This will help me understand if it aligns with your interests and career goals. I
want to look into some college or university programs that offers degrees in medical
technology, clinical laboratory science. Ensuring that the programs I’m interested in
are accredited. I also want to take financial aid options and scholarships available for
students, like DOST, and Bataan Library. This can help me alleviate the cost of my
education.

Personal development is crucial for achieving success in any profession or

career. As an individual, personal development helps understand my strengths,
weaknesses, values, and interests. This self-awareness is essential for making
informed career choices that align with personal aspirations and values. Through
personal development, individuals can set clear and achievable career goals.
Personal development enhances adaptability by improving one's ability to handle
change and uncertainty.
