SUBJECT: Brake Temperature Monitoring System leading to

LG NO DISPATCH on EICAS after landing

REASON: To inform operators about the Brake Temperature

Monitoring System (BTMS) new logic and reports of
LG NO DISPATCH on EICAS after landing with light
brake application.

DESCRIPTION:
Four brake temperature sensors (BTS) installed at each brake
assembly compose the Brake Temperature Monitoring System
(BTMS). The BTMS is responsible for monitoring the temperature of
the four brake assemblies and provide information to the airplane
systems and crew indications.
The integrity of each sensor is checked after landing and if there is a
faulty temperature sensor the message LG NO DISPATCH is
displayed on EICAS.
Primus EPIC Load 25.7 and 27.2 implement a modified logic to test the
BTMS: five minutes after landing each brake temperature is compared
with its initial condition measured at touchdown. If any brake does not
present a temperature increase of at least 25°C, LG NO DISPATCH is
displayed. In this case, the message clears from EICAS after 10
minutes without any crew intervention.

LETTER

Embraer has received field reports of an increased rate of

LG NO DISPATCH in airplanes with Primus Epic Load 25.7.
Engineering investigation pointed that the new BTMS logic may lead to
LG NO DISPATCH messages when performing normal landings with
light brake application. In these reported cases, the brake usage was
not enough to increase each brake assembly temperature by at
least 25°C.

OPERATING INFORMATION:

In case of LG NO DISPATCH being displayed after landing, the

following procedure may be used to confirm that all sensors are
operating normally:

Step 1:

- Check and record all four brake temperatures displayed on

MFD Status page (as soon as possible after
LG NO DISPATCH is displayed on EICAS).

Figure 1 - Brake temperatures on MFD Status Page

Step 2:

- If at least 5°C increase from the initial recorded temperature is

observed and LG NO DISPATCH extinguishes after 10
minutes, all four BTS are operative.
