I – INTRODUCTION
A voluntary National Learning Camp, lasting three to five weeks, will be organized.
During the EOSY break of 2024, activities in Intervention Camps will be condensed to a
three-week period, running from July 1 to 19, 2024. This adjustment is aligned with DepEd
Order No. 003, s. 2024, which modifies DO 22, s. 2023, detailing the Implementing
Guidelines for the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023-2024. These
activities will adopt an integrated approach to education, specifically targeting numeracy and
literacy skills, with a strong emphasis on improving reading fluency and comprehension. The
primary goal is to address the educational gaps of students requiring intervention and to
address existing reading difficulties among elementary learners. Furthermore, the program
seeks to instill a passion for reading by exposing participants to diverse learning
opportunities. Learners will engage in various activities throughout the Enrichment Program,
attending school on Tuesdays to Thursdays, while Mondays and Fridays will be reserved for
LAC Sessions, focusing on teacher development through coaching, mentoring, and technical
support. The Enrichment Classes will conclude with a culminating event, providing students
with the chance to display their skills and showcase their learning achievements.
II – BODY
In accordance with the MATATAG BANSANG MAKABATA, BATANG MAKABANSA
AGENDA, the Department of Education is adopting the enclosed policy outlined in DepEd Order no.
14 s. 2023, titled "POLICY GUIDELINES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL
LEARNING CAMP." This policy aligns with DepEd's commitment to the National Learning
Recovery Program, which aims to address learning gaps and aid K-10 learners in achieving
educational standards across all public elementary schools. Recognizing the pivotal role of literacy
and numeracy development in knowledge acquisition and academic success, the Department of
Education emphasizes the implementation of various reading programs and literacy interventions
nationwide. Limaong Elementary School learners continue to demonstrate subpar performance, as
evidenced by post-reading assessments such as CRLA and Phil-IRI, as well as the DNUMAT results
despite its effort. To provide further assistance, the Department plans to conduct End of School Year
Intervention Classes to support learners with learning gaps, focusing on Grade 1 to Grade 3 pupils.
Objectives:
a) Focusing on improving literacy and numeracy skills where there are gaps.
b) Increasing the number of students who can read independently.
c) Enhancing the teaching skills and expertise of volunteer educators in teaching
reading and numeracy.
A. Advocacy
Dissemination of information and orientation to parents regarding the conduct of the
National Learning Camp (NLC)/End of School Year Intervention Class in our school during
the conduct of G.P.T.A Meeting.
B. Kick off
Session Preference:
The pupils were handled by their respective advisers and other volunteer teachers.
Each Teacher will be handling a minimum of 10 pupils in every session. National Learning
Camp (NLC)/End of School Year Intervention Activity commences from July 1 to 19, 2024.
