“Application fields” and specification 06732.PIP.MEC.SDS “Piping
Project specification”, aims at providing customers with all those typical
assemblies required for the piping assembling completion, defining
pertinence and materials.

This document shall apply in extra-European areas only since it is in

compliance with ANSI/ASME and/or equivalent regulations.

2 FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS

2.1 Operation environment

When defining equipment, pipes and pertinent components positioning,

the environmental conditions of the installation site defined in design
specifications shall be taken into account.
All environmental elements that might affect the components reliability
such as:

- minimum and maximum temperatures;

- wind speed and direction;
- elevation above sea-level;
- condensate formation;
- solid particles presence (sand, dust);
- corrosive or polluting substances presence;
- possible mould formation
- seismic events;
- possible direct and indirect electrocution;
- mechanical stress and vibrations during normal operation;
- electromagnetic disturbs
- explosion or fire hazard

shall be taken into account.

2.2 Functional requirements

2.2.1 Construction Norms

In accordance with the paragraph “Reference Norms“ and with all the
limitations included in the technical documentation issued for a specific
project, all the equipments shall be designed.

2.2.2 Identification Criteria for Typical piping assemblies

2.2.3 Typical assemblies planning – General Criteria

These documents aim at providing with standard documentation in

accordance to “Piping project specification” to be used during the
design phase for fluids treated by onshore and offshore plants. All the
resulting requirements are covered as well as the components integrity
and uniformity is granted.
Provided that the criteria listed above be fulfilles, the use of assemblies
other than the standardized ones is allowed for a specific job order.

2.2.4 Application fields list

All drawings and the list of standardized typical assemblies, included

their links to the “Piping project specification”, are enclosed in the
document 05346.PIP.MEC.DWG “Application fields”.

2.2.5 Typical assemblies use modes

A specific document named “Typical Piping Assemblies” shall be set-up

for each project.
All those typical assemblies selected from standards for the current job
order shall be bundled in this document.
All those assemblies not included among standards, shall be
individually numbered with that job order number for which they have
been edited and for that purpose only shall be valid.

2.2.3 Materials and Ratings

Materials and ratings are defined in the “Piping project specification”

where references to applicable typical assemblies are recalled.
