Lesson 1 Launching your developer edition instance

In this lesson, you will learn about creating an account on salesforce. The steps for creating a
salesforce account are as follows :

Step1: To create a salesforce account, the first step is to open a browser and type the following
URL developer.salesforce.com

Step 2: After opening the page, you will see the options for “Login’’ and “Sign up’.’ for creating
a new instance you need to click on the signup option
Step 3: Once you click on the signup option, you will be directed to a page to create your
account. You will have to fill in the required information, and a link will be sent to your email,
which will be used to create a password. After filling in the information, click on the option “Sign
me up.”

Step 4: once you have clicked on the sing up option, it will direct you to the page where you will
see a message asking you to check your email to confirm your account
Step 5: After you get a confirmation email, you need to click on the “Verify Account option,”
which will direct you to the page where you will be required to set up a new password.

Step 6: To create a password, please you are supposed to read the instructions carefully. After
typing in your new password, you will have to select a security question. Once selected, click
on the “change password.’’
Step 7: Once you have clicked on the change password, you will be directed to the launching
setup page to see a welcome card with all the important instructions.

Step 8: On the launching setup page, you will get to know about object manager, where you will
be able to see all available objects discussed later in the other videos. You will also find a tab for
“ quick search’’ where you can search for various settings related to salesforce.
