Work Thesis Statement: Pop Culture Detective video essay, “Stalking For Love” argues that

there’s no reason why the central conflict in a romance story need to involve stalking behavior.

The argument is effective because it incorporates evidence that making people feel unsafe is a

terrible way to show you care about them.

Introduction:

1. Hook: Why should stalking have a place in romance?

2. Info. adding sentence: With the help of movies Jonathan McIntosh provides examples of

how stalking should not be a way to grab somebody attention.

3. Pivot sentence: In our world, however, about every romantic movie has shown that

stalking has an opportunity to get somebody a chance for a romantic life.

4. Setup: “Stalking For Love” a video essay by Johnathan McIntosh, is an excellent

example of how movies use this as a romantic gesture when it could rather leave to

serious consequences.

5. Thesis: The various conflicts in Johnathan McIntosh video essay are examples which are

used to teach us that romantic movies has teached us that stalking is a way to show love

when it’s not.

Body Paragraph 1: (Ethos: Getting your audience to trust you)


1. Topic Sentence: This video essay by Johnathan McIntosh has specific facts on why

stalking should not be an act of love.

2. Introduction of evidence: These romantic movies have shown that stalking could get your

significant other attention, but it won’t always work for a healthy relationship or in

generally it won’t work for your future.

3. Evidence:Stalking is illegal, it’s a crime. In this case this crime could lead victims to

anxiety, paranoia, depression, or even PTSD.

4. Analysis/ connection to argument/counterargument: Stalking could lead you to a

romantic journey with your soon to be partner.

5. Repeat as NECESSARY: Overall, what would stalking benefit you from love interest?

Body Paragraph 2:(Pathos: Getting you audience to feel)

1. Topic Sentence: Pop Culture Detective video essay has described how stalking has made

a victim feel many emotions some could lead to sweet gestures other could lead to

terrible nightmares.

2. Introduction of evidence: The behavior shown by stalkers might be selfless gesture in

their point of view but bothering somebodies personal space just makes the victim feel

uncomfortable.

3. Evidence: The characters shown in the movies from the video essay has refuse to respect

their victims boundaries, personal space, or privacy.

4. Analysis/connection to argument/counterargument: On the other hand in some cases

stalking does also protect their victims.

5. Repeat as NECESSARY: The victims in this case have been disturbed and bothered by

their stalker which could make the victim feel many emotions.
Body Paragraph 3:(Logos: Getting your audience to think)

1. Topic sentence: How would anybody else react towards the victims position in this video

essay?

2. Introduction of evidence: Depending on what intentions the stalkers has then this could

lead to a positive or negative way.

3. Evidence: what reasons do romantic movies have to involve stalking in a romantic way.

4. Analysis/connection to argument/counterargument: The victims point of view could

always be liking the idea that the stalkers seem so interested on them.

5. Repeat as NECESSARY: Anybody would have to agree that stalking is never a way to

get somebody to like you.

Conclusion:

1. Reemphasize points of argument: This video essay by Johnathan McIntosh contains

specific facts on why stalking should not be considered an act of love, such as how

stalking has caused a victim to experience a variety of emotions, some of which may

result in sweet gestures and others in terrible nightmares, and how would anyone else

react to the victim's situation in this video essay?

2. So what? And Who cares? (why is this important, and who should care?): Anybody that

has a stalker or anybody who decides to stalk their person in interest.

3. Call to action: Stalking should never be a way to represent romance or for someone to fall

in love with a stalker.
