Based on the Sea Game 31 event, please point out the successes that the event brought
to the Vietnamese economy.

The SEA Games 31 event was a great success for Vietnam, not only in terms of sports achievements, but
also in terms of economic and social impacts. Here are some of the benefits that the event brought to the
Vietnamese economy:

- Promotion of the Host Country: Hosting international events like the SEA Games can enhance
the host country's global visibility and reputation. This increased exposure can attract foreign
investment, promote tourism, and stimulate trade and business opportunities. Boosted tourism
revenue and promoted Vietnam as an attractive, safe destination, helping the local tourism industry
recover from COVID-19 impacts. Over 10,000 foreign and 100,000 domestic tourists visited
Hanoi during the event, generating over $52 million USD (1.2 trillion VND) in revenue
- Tourism and Hospitality: The influx of athletes, officials, and spectators can boost tourism and
the hospitality industry. Visitors spend money on accommodations, dining, transportation, and
other tourism-related activities, which can stimulate local businesses and generate revenue.
- Infrastructure Development: The event stimulated the development of sports infrastructure and
facilities in Vietnam, as well as the improvement of human resources and management capacity in
the sports sector. The event required a large investment in upgrading and building new stadiums,
venues, hotels, transportation systems, and other services to meet the standards and demands of the
event. These infrastructure investments can have long-term benefits for the host country,
supporting economic growth and attracting further investment.
- Job Creation: The event also provided opportunities for training and learning for athletes,
coaches, officials, volunteers, and staff involved in the organization and operation of the event.
Generated direct and indirect income for tourism, hospitality, entertainment, transportation,
construction, retail, and other sectors/industries. Also created many jobs and income opportunities
- Business Opportunities and Sponsorships: Major sporting events attract corporate sponsorships,
which can provide opportunities for local businesses to collaborate and gain exposure. Sponsorship
deals and partnerships can support local industries and contribute to economic growth.

In summary, the successful hosting of SEA Games 31 supported Vietnam's post-COVID tourism
recovery, economic growth, international reputation, regional relationships, sports development, and job
creation. Contributed to Vietnam's GDP growth, estimated at 6.5% in 2022.The event brought significant
economic benefits across multiple industries and domains.
