Basilan is home to the Yakan tribe, famous for their intricate weaving
techniques and colorful traditional costumes.
The Lanao del Sur province is known for the Maranao tribe, famous for
their unique and intricate brassware craftsmanship.
Maguindanao is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, pristine
beaches, and magnificent waterfalls.
The province of Sulu, meanwhile, is home to the Tausug tribe, renowned
for their colorful dances and music.
Tawi-Tawi is a paradise for nature lovers, with its clear turquoise waters,
white sand beaches, and rich marine biodiversity.

Major Commodity: cassava,rice, corn, a variety of fruits such as

banana, mangoes, bananas, durian, mangosteen, and pineapples
Highest producer of cassava for about 591.06 MT.
“Seaweed Capital of the Philippines”- significant industry in Sulu and Tawi-
tawi.
Livestock: with cattle, hog, goats, carabao, oxen, chickens, and pigs
BARMM recorded the highest fishery production in the entire Philippines for

two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022; sharing 30.57% and 41.27%
growth to the total fisheries and aquaculture production volume in the
country.
