Course Description: This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher to actual
classroom situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching learning episodes
that focus on the application of educational theories learned in content and pedagogy courses will be
made. Observations on learners’ behavior, motivation, teacher’s strategies, classroom management, and
assessment in learning among others shall be given emphasis. A portfolio shall be required in the course.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Formulate one’s philosophy of teaching.


2. Describe how a safe and secure learning environment contributes to the physical, socio-
emotional, and cognitive development of learners.
3. Determine ways of addressing learner’s diversity in terms of gender, needs, interests, cultural
background, and difficult circumstances
4. Illustrate the teaching-learning process and the use of ICT to promote quality relevant and
sustainable educated process.
5. Assess the various classroom management strategies observed in the class.
6. Analyze concepts, theories and principles in curriculum development in actual classroom
setting.
7. Evaluate assessment and reporting practices done in the classroom.
(Field Study 2)

Course Description: The course is a continuation of Field Study 1. It allows pre service teachers to be
immersed in the actual/virtual learning environment where the teaching learning episodes will focus on
the application of educational theories learned in content and pedagogy courses. They will also
participate and assist in limited actual/virtual activities that relate to pedagogy, assessment of learning
and preparation of instructional materials. Professional readings on classroom-based action researches
with their reflections will also be required. Their electronic portfolios (e-portfolios) which will showcase
the different learning experiences in FS 2 shall be prepared and submitted as one of the final
requirements of the course.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Select and prepare appropriate teaching and learning resources and materials including ICT to address
learning outcomes.
2. Design, select, and organize assessment tools and strategies consistent with the course objectives.
3. Design a learning continuity plan to help establish a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment to
enhance learning
4. Apply critical, creative, and reflective as well as other higher-order thinking skills in the different
teaching-learning episodes.
