Control Push Buttons

For detailed information, refer to Special Instruction, M0114493 , "GCCP 1.2 Control Panel
Operator Manual".

Stop/Reset Mode Button (5) - Pressing stop/reset mode button (5) puts the module in
stop/reset mode. Pressing the button clears any alarm condition for which the triggering criteria
has been activated.
If the engine is running and the module is put into stop/reset mode, the module automatically
instructs the generator off load ("Close Generator Output" becomes inactive if used).

The fuel supply de-energizes and the engine comes to a standstill. When in stop/reset mode, the
generator remains at rest if any form of start signal is present.

Manual Mode Button (7) - Pressing manual mode button (7) puts the module in manual mode.
When in manual mode, the module responds to start button (11) to start the generator and run
off load.

To place the generator on load, use the transfer to generator button (4). The module
automatically instructs the changeover device to take the mains off load ("Close Mains Output"
becomes inactive) and place the generator on load.

Use open generator button (3) to place the generator off load . The module automatically
instructs the changeover device to take the generator off load and place the mains on load.

Additional digital inputs can be assigned to perform the functions.

If the engine is running off-load in manual mode and load signal becomes active, the module
automatically instructs the changeover device to take mains off load. The generator is then
placed on load.

Upon removal of the on load signal, the generator remains on load until either "Stop/Reset
Mode" or "Auto Mode" is selected.

Auto Mode (9) - Pressing auto mode button (9) puts the module in auto mode. In auto mode, the
module can control the function of the generator automatically.

The module monitors numerous start requests and when a start request is received, the set is
automatically started. Once the generator is available, mains is taken off load and the generator
is placed on load.

Upon removal of the starting signal, the module starts the return delay timer. Once the timer
expires, the module takes the generator off load and place the mains on load.

The generator then continues to run during the cooling timer, until stopped. The module then
waits for the next start event.

Alarm Mute/Lamp Test Button (10) - Alarm mute/lamp test button (10) puts the audible alarm in
the controller in silent mode. The button de-activates the audible alarm output (if configured) and
illuminates all the LEDs on the fascia module as a lamp test function.

Start Button (11) - Start button (11) is only active in the "Stop/Reset Mode", "Manual Mode", and
"Test Mode".

Pressing start button (11) in stop/reset mode, powers up the engine ECU but does not start the
engine.

Pressing start button (11) in manual mode or test mode starts and runs the generator off load in
manual mode or on load in test mode.

Menu Navigation Button (15) - Menu navigation button (15) is used for navigating the
instrumentation, event log, and configuration screens.

Note: The module may instruct an engine start event due to external influences. Due to this
reason, the engine may start at any time without a warning. Prior to performing any maintenance
on the system, remove the battery and isolate the supplies.

Note: The following description details the sequences followed by a module containing the
standard factory configuration. Refer to the default factory configuration of a different source for
the exact sequences and timers observed by any particular module in the field.

The module is controlled with push buttons mounted on the front of the module with the following
functions:

Control Push Buttons

For detailed information, refer to Special Instruction, M0126473 , "GCCP 1.4 Control Panel
Operator Manual".

Note: For further details, refer to Section .

Stop/Reset Mode Button (6) - Pressing stop/reset mode button (6) put the module in the
stop/reset mode. In this mode, any alarm condition for which the triggering criteria has been
activated is cleared.

If the engine is running and the module is put into stop/reset mode, the module automatically
instructs the generator off load ("Close Generator Output" becomes inactive if used). The fuel
supply de-energizes and the engine comes to a standstill. When in stop/reset mode, the
generator remains at rest if any form of start signal is present.

Manual Mode Button (7) - Pressing manual mode button (7) puts the module in manual mode.
When in manual mode, the module responds to start button (11) to start the generator and run
off load.

To place the generator on load, use the transfer to generator button. The module automatically
instructs the generator to synchronize to the mains, if no load. Once in sync, the module
instructs the generator to place the generator on load. The "Close Generator Output" becomes
active.

To place the generator off load, use transfer to mains button. The module automatically ramps
the load off the generator and then takes off load ("Close Generator Output" becomes active).
Additional digital inputs are available to perform these functions.

If the generator is running off-load in manual mode and load signal becomes active, the module
automatically instructs the generator to synchronize. Once in sync, the module instructs the
generator to place the generator on load. The "Close Generator Output" becomes active.

Upon removal of the on load signal, the module automatically ramps the load off the generator
and then takes the generator off load. The "Close Generator Output" becomes inactive.

In manual mode, the module responds to transfer to mains button to place the mains on load.
The "Close Mains Output" becomes active. If required, synchronization can be made automatic.

Auto Mode Button (9) - Pressing auto mode button (9) puts the module in auto mode. In auto
mode, the module can control the function of the generator automatically.

The module monitors various start signals through inputs, Load Levels, and Mains Failure
Detection. When a start signal is made, the set is automatically started. Once available, the
generator is placed on load, synchronizing to the mains, if required. The "Close Generator
Output" becomes active.

Upon removal of the starting signal, the module starts the return delay timer. When the timer
expires, the load is automatically ramped off the generator and taken off load. The "Close
Generator Output" becomes inactive.

The generator then continues to run during the cooling timer. The module then waits for the next
start event.

Test Mode Button (8) - Pressing test mode button (8) places the module into test mode. The
test mode allows an on load test of the generator.

In test mode, the module responds to the start button to start the generator. Once started and
becomes available, the set is automatically placed on load synchronizing to the mains, if
required. The "Close Generator Output" becomes active.

Depending upon module configuration, the generator remains in constant parallel with the mains
or proceeds to run in island operation. The "Close Generator Output" becomes inactive.

The generator remains on load until either stop/reset mode or auto mode is selected.

Start Button (11) - Start button is active in stop/reset mode and manual mode.

Pressing start button in stop/reset mode, powers up the ECU of the engine. This action is
performed to check the status of the CAN communication and to prime the fuel system.

Pressing start button in manual mode starts the generator and runs the generator off load in
manual mode.

Alarm Mute/Lamp Test Button (10) - Alarm mute/lamp test button (10) silences the audible
alarm in the controller and de-activates the audible alarm output (if configured. This button also
illuminates all the LEDs on the fascia of the module as a lamp test function.

Menu Navigation Buttons (1) - Menu navigation button (1) are used for navigating the
instrumentation, event log, and configuration screens.
