VISION
A cooperative that is committed to
promoting a sustainable agriculture
through organic and natural farming.
MISSION
To develop and advocate the use of
organic fertilizer and orchestrate
programs that would advance the
welfare of the farmers to sustainable
agriculture.
BRIEF HISTORY
A cooperative born out of necessity, Binubusan Multi-purpose Cooperative (BMPC) was
conceptualized on July 31, 1991 by a group of pioneering farmers who are pillars of agrarian reform
beneficiaries. It is created to promote the interest of farmers and less fortunate members of the
cooperative .This was spirited and headed by energetic and cooperative minded individual in the name
of its founding chairman Rufino C. Hernandez.
With a noble purpose and desire to further strengthen the bonding of members it was finally
registered with the Cooperative Development Authority on July 31, 1991.This has become part of the
history crave in the hearts of its founding co-operators and members who are active in the promotion
of the very ideals of the cooperative, that is to be of service to the community and to contribute growth
and development to nation building.
From its commencement of commercial operation in September 1991, BMPC bravely engaged in
Hog Fattening Project with a loan from Land Bank of the Philippines worth three hundred thousand
pesos (php 300,000.00). Unfortunately, due to the spread of the foot and mouth disease, the
cooperative experienced heavy losses that it nearly closed business. However, due to unwavering
desire by its Chairman Rufino C. Hernandez to continue the business of the cooperative he was able to
get the support of the Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP) to assist the cooperative in its new
business for the manufacturer of Organic Fertilizer.
In 1997, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP) and
Binubusan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BMPC) to mutually engage in the production of Bio-Organic
Fertilizer.
In this Memorandum of Agreement, Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP) shall provide all the raw
materials needed including light and water to augment the cooperative scanty resources for the
production of organic fertilizer. It has also provided 2,000 sq.m of land area for the construction of
warehouse facilities and working space for the purpose of producing organic fertilizer. This symbiotic
relationship between the two party helps protect the environment and maximize the use of sugarcane
milling waste as major component of organic fertilizer.
Now, with that kind of agreement, Binubusan Multi-Purpose Cooperative managed to propel
growth and successfully introduce the use of FEDMUCO Organic Fertilizer to farmers in different
provinces in Luzon wide. With the income derived from the organic fertilizer it was able to pay its loan
from Land Bank of the Philippines and finally released from the burden of debt obligation. With the fifty
(50) hectares stockpile of five (5) to ten (10) years of decomposed readily available organic materials
approximately one (1) million bags of organic fertilizer of fifty kilos, the cooperative has the capacity to
produce the above estimated number of bags of organic fertilizer annually.
To date, BMPC plays a big role in the supply of FEDMUCO Organic Fertilizer to satisfied farmers
in Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Quezon, Cavite, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija,
Pampanga,Tarlac, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Mountain Province, Benguet, Masbate, Sorsogon, and
some parts of Visayas like Samar and Leyte.
With these resources and support from Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP), the Binubusan
Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BMPC) is now one of the biggest reliable producers of quality FEDMUCO
Organic Fertilizer in the Philippines.
