Why were you bullied? What kind of bullying did you face up to and what happened to you? How did you

Ever since primary people had always bullied me because I was from another province. My arrival disrupted
the established social order, and some kids saw me as an easy target. I had no friends and everyone isolated
me. I cried and cried but I could not find the courage to tell my teachers. The teachers ignored me and did
not do anything to support me. Soon it got worse and I was blamed for the things I never did. The
teachers did not believe me because my bullies acted differently in front of the teachers than they did with
me. They made fun of my name called me names made fun of my personality and the way I spoke people
also laughed at me and pointed at me. I was always picked last on sport teams despite being good at
sports. I would even get isolated and people would ignore me. When you experience cyberbullying, I start to
feel ashamed, nervous, anxious and insecure about what people say or think about me. This can lead to
withdrawing from friends and family, negative thoughts and self-talk, feeling guilty about things you did or did
not do, or feeling that you are being judged negatively.Several years later I found the courage to tell my
parents where they took action and the police was involved in this too. The bullying had stopped.

I remember a time when I witnessed cyberbullying at my high school. It was on social media, and a
classmate posted bad comments about another student. The comments were offensive and targeted the student’s
appearance.
I felt really uncomfortable seeing those offensive posts, so I decided to report them to the social media
platform. I also sent a message to the person who was being bullied to show my support and tell him not to pay
attention to the comments.
The cyberbullying continued for a few days, but it was clear that many of our classmates were against
it. They started commenting on the posts and told the bully to stop and support the victim. Finally, we reported
the issue to our teacher and the person who was bullying stopped and apologised.
 It was great to see that students like us came together to stand up to cyberbullying. This experience
showed me the importance of taking action when we witness such behaviours. Cyberbullying can be very
hurtful, but when people are against it, we can make a positive difference and support those who are bullied.
