Italy is the 2nd supplier to the UAE of components for the Oil & Gas Industry in the
first half of 2023, with over 87 million Euros worth of products exported and is the
first largest manufacturing country in this sector among the 27 European countries.

Italian components and technologies for the energy industry are highly demanded
all around the world and the country is the 4th supplier to the UAE of components
for oil and gas industry with almost Euro 158 million worth of products exported in
2022 (+10,5% compared to 2021).

Looking at the world’s current geopolitical framework, aggravated by a two-year

pandemic, the resulting crisis has necessitated a large-scale repositioning of energy
supplies from traditional fossil sources and an increasingly shared use of renewable
energy sources. Four major trends are driving the future of global energy: the
decline in the role of hydrocarbons, the rapid expansion of renewables, increasing
electrification, and the increasing use of low-carbon hydrogen. Against this backdrop,
new opportunities are opening up for the plant engineering industry.

Italian industry is taking an increasingly crucial role in the transformation of the

Oil & Gas supply chain towards environmental sustainability demonstrating that
sustainability can go hand in hand with operational efficiency and economic success.
