LEARNING OBJECTIVES In the end of the class, pupils will be able to:
PRE-LESSON
1.Pupils recall previous lesson on basic operations
LESSON 1. With guidance, pupils subtract without regrouping by simulation using number line and basic

2. With guidance, pupils subtract using number line and draw a picture in group activity
3. Pupils use various terminology for subtraction such as calculate the balance, difference and
decrease
4. Teacher emphasizes on subtract smaller value from the bigger value
5. With guidance, pupils use colored chips to represent value of thousands, hundreds, tens and
ones
6. Teacher encourages pupils to use abacus for subtraction
7. Teacher divides the pupils into groups
8. Each group gets three number cards. Pupils answer the quick quiz questions (21st CA)
9. Pupils check the answer using calculator
10. Pupils answer the questions within the given time (CBA)
11. Teacher and pupils discuss the answers (HOTS)
POST-LESSON. 13. Pupils make the correction and conclude today’s lesson
