INSTRUCTIONS - Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follows.
EVILS OF UNEMPLOYMENT
People are unemployed when they have no jobs. They are idle. This causes a lot of problems for
them and the society.
Unemployed people are not happy, since they have no jobs, they have no money to buy the
things they need like food, clothes or accommodation. They also have no money to entertain
themselves or their friends like those who are employed. They often compare themselves with
people that have jobs and feel their standard is low, they feel inferior and sad.
In addition, persons who are unemployed often take to crime to provide what they need. Many of
the men steal or rob and that is why there are frequent cases of armed robbery in the cities. The
women become prostitutes and infect their customers with diseases. Some people are hired and
paid to kill others who have not offended them in any way. They are called hired killers or hired

SECTION A
Walking is a wonderful exercise, but we tend to take it for granted. Let’s take a look at a
toddler. When she takes those first unsteady steps, she looks happy and excited. She sees it as
fun. She feels she has made a major achievement and seems to say, “This is exactly what I
should be doing!” We human beings are designed to walk a lot. However, so many factors in our
modern lifestyle work against this. Cars, remote controls and jobs that require sitting at our desk
will reduce our chances of walking. You will be amazed at the many benefits that go along with
walking regularly. Fat melts away clothes fit, food taste better and health problem disappear.
You feel happy and full of energy. If an exercise can do all these for us, then, why does
everybody not get some?
It is not hard to fix exercise in because you don’t need hours to do it everyday, fifteen minutes a
day is just enough for a starter and all the benefits will follow: trimmer tummy, tighter muscles,
lower blood pressure, reduced stress level and the feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day.
What is it about walking that makes it more successful than other exercises? The first thing is the
simplicity. Everyone can walk. It is so easy. In fact, some people doubt whether you can really
get in shape by just walking. Walking thirty minutes a day, three times a week, reduces the risk
of death from all natural causes by fifty five percent. You burn more fats through simple sports
like walking than through tough activities that keep you gasping for breath such as weight-lifting
or high-energy aerobics. Not only that, you can also continue to burn fat, long after walking,
even when you are sitting or sleeping. There are also things that don’t happen when you are
walking. You don’t crash, you don’t get injured and you don’t compete with anyone else.

toddlers to take unsteady steps while walking (c) condemns people for being amazed at some

INSTRUCTION - Read the passage carefully before answering the questions below
SECTION A
People have different opinions about the world. While some say that the world is good, many see
if as full of evil, others believe the world is mixture of good and bad. Unfortunately, those who
see the world as bad are in the majority. As a person who is just starting the journey of life, you
have to look at the issue carefully before you form an opinion.
People often have difficult experiences that cause them so much pain that they want to say that
the world is evil. On a number of occasion, you trust or rely on as friends disappoint you by
acting in ways that cause you pain. This makes some say that human beings cannot be trusted.
Again, you sometimes see people suffering for no fault of theirs. After working hard for about
thirty years, a man bought a car and some items needed to make him and his family live happily.
One night, robbers broke into his house and stole his car and some valuable property at gun
point. He was left with nothing and have to start all over again to acquire new property as
replacement for the stolen ones. The man may see the attack as the work of enemies or the devil
in this 'evil' world.
