INTRODUCTION
It is in the furniture industry, where engineering artistry become funcionality – design matters
engineering and beauty. The case is about the ICAD’s high-tech craftsmanship of designing
the future generation of chairs, from conceptual model to final 3D view entirely on
SolidWorks. First, we determined the equipment type and then intensively worked on its
development. Finally, we ensured its documentation has been carried out further with high
quality. Let's take this to the next level. How are we going to wed ergonomics with the design
ideology of our age? The chair you have chosen will not only be a thing that meets all
functional demands but would also be an important element of your subtle beauty and well-
being Dive in SolidWorks top levels only the imagination is the barrier between drawing up
furniture designs to the final three dimensional looks. Coming up you will be provided with
an idea to try the "genesesis" (at this point the author means "serveral steps to achieve the
goal") of innovative seating design.

DESIGN METHODOLGY
The unique chair design methodology is building upon the whole concept which brings
together the ergonomic research, user feedback, and multiple prototypes iteration. Started by
hand-sketching, the design progressed via to digital modeling in SolidWorks, which helped in
the accurate visualization and the refinement of the structural aspects. At each stage of testing
we were seeking optimizing comfort of usage, functionality and appearance resulting in the
end design where form, in no doubt, complements function.

WELL BEING OPPURTUNITES

A smart chair with all those features sounds like a fantastic idea! Here are some potential
well-being opportunities it could offer:

 Posture Correction
The U-shaped back of the chair could be equipped with sensors that are able to figure
out when the user is leaning in the wrong way, and then give an alert to correct the
seating position. The device can additionally give instruction which has good posture
through the LED display.
 Customizable Comfort
However, the seats can be set up to fit users’ specific comfort zones through the use
of buttons, making it possible for individuals to find a perfect level of comfort which
will reduce their aggravation during the long sitting times.
 Active Sitting
Compared to the standard stationary chair, by acquiring the functioning of slight
movements or vibrations, such chair can easily make the user engage his core muscles
while sitting that eventually helps the blood circulation and prevents body stiffness.

 Integrated Wellness Tracking

Coordinating with health apps or wearables, the chair could track the metric, such as
duration of sedentary behavior, quality of posture, and stress levels. And it would also
offer users the possibility to understand the patterns of wellbeing.
 Productivity Boost
In-built laptop stand and charging facility are its key features that makes it into a
dedicated workplace that ensures sustained concentration and productivity. The LED
visual display could send reminders or suggestions reinforcing the user’s planning
activities.
 Entertainment and Relaxation
Integrated speakers could play light music or sit back audio to calm down during
breaks or all the way stream your own audio contents if you want to get engaged.
 Remote Monitoring and Support
For the chair in the workplace or the healthcare settings, the entity could be set with
monitoring potential by remote means in order to track its usage patterns and
providing helps or interventions, for example, nagging users to take a break or
providing ergonomic advice, when needed.

PART DESCRIPTION
These parts serves as the foundation of the chair assembly. It includes features such as:

 Leg Rest
Sitting at the corner of the front of the chair leg rest bears role in supporting and
comforting user's legs.
 Main Chair
This is the main seating unit of the chair that gives the legs are balanced support and
also ease sitting in it for a long while.
 Laptop Stand
The laptop or tablet stand that is combined with the chair’s armrest provides a surface
which is readily available to users while they are occupied in sitting positions. Each of
these angle can be customized.
 Laptop Stand Rods
This is a spider of rods, or a thing that really shines, and is pulled from the armrest to
hold the laptop stand steadily in position. They are adjustal to the differrent size of the
laptops.
SKETCHING
Making a sketch in Solidworks is an initial stage of getting the 3D figure. It consists in
sketching 2D shapes and the lines or profiles of elements, that will be afterwards used for
reference when sculpting. Having the user themself create the geometry, utilizing easy-to-use
toolbar like lines, arcs and dimension. These can then be extruded, revolved or swept to build
solid objects.

Figure 12 SKETCHING
FILLET
The fillet in SolidWorks is a border with a radius curve or a corner curve such as the tube in
the model. It increases the beautfulness, distribute stress, and makes installing easier. Settings
for a desired fillet radius can be selected, and users specify edges or faces onto which these
will be applied, recreating clean transitions between faces for a fine work.

Figure 13 FILLET
BOSS EXTRUDE
a feature of solidworks is an extrude the 3D body that can be made using a set of 2D sketches
that is in a particular direction. Users provide values regarding the depth and direction in
which they want to extrude the sketches out to form the solid geometry. The component of
“feature-based parametric design” is the fundamental property for building and designing
different types of components and structures within the “SolidWorks” environment of a
parametric design.

Figure 14 BOSS EXTRUDE

CUT EXRUDE
Within SolidWorks, "Cut Extrude" is an operation that removes matter from a part by
extruding the sketch in a chosen direction. User program plot target profile and depth by
marking cavities and the complex layers if required. This instrumental role in a subtractive
manufacturing process makes it suitable for customized details and performance optimization
with maximum simplicity and efficiency.

Figure 15 CUT EXTRUDE

CIRCULAR PATTERN
Within SolidWorks, select the feature or the body to replicate followed by the axis of rotation
that will be used as well as the desired number of repeats. Reconsidering others such as spear
configuration or rewording parts of the plot. By doing it this way, the characterization of the
features around the main axis is simple, which well suits the radial design.

Figure 16 CIRCULAR PATTERN

MIRROR
SOLIDWORKS has a mirror feature that allows you to choose a geometry, features to be
mirrored and then define mirror plane or Axis of line of symmetry which in turn applies
symmetry across the defined plane or axis of line. This tool consists of copying as well as
mirroring a selected portion or of a part and making sure that it is consistent. This operation
will hence reduce modelling time and be duplicable.

SKETCH ON SURFACE IN SOLIDWORKS

Sketch on the surface, being a button, selects the related surface and start drawing a sketch.
Take the help of drawing tools to define the shapes, constraints, and sizes precisely. Make
sure that the sketch is positioned correctly in accordance with the rendering scheme. That is
the only way to get a perfect reproduction. Try again one or more time as necessary and then
create a final one that can be used further as a blueprint in SolidWorks software.

ASSEMBLY
INSERT COMPONENTS
SolidWorks assembly is a highly advanced assembly block which can be utilized to create
complex 3D models depending on the individual assemblies. The customers have the option
of importing their parts done by Solid Works or any CAD software. This can be easy
connected to assemblies for prototyping. Cage and Mates let the parts to be positioned more
precisely while movement simulation is being taken care of and parts get function correctly
as most as possible. Components can be combined, deleted, hidden or setup for use in
different layouts for screen design. This program allows multiple employees to work together
on projects with the help of such innovative options like construction drawing creation and
exploding views. The SolidWorks assembly feature is a tool, which powers all the engineers
in the world to see, examine and improve all the designs and supports the creation of
complicated products in the vehicles, aerospace and consumer goods industries.

MATES
SOLIDWORKS mates are the relationship between parts or assemblies that clip, slide, or
weld together. They also help assembles to simulate how things come together. hence they
help in ensuring the structures to be in place, right-positioned and have the right motion. The
Mates cover tangency, parallel, coincident, perpendicular, concentric, and distance relations,
as well as some others. Desigers apply the compatability of different components when
assembling a design, which gives the design a precise fit functional approach and assuredly a
well functioning final product.

Figure 19 MATES OF ASSEMBLY

EXPLODED VIEW
In SOLIDWORKS, exploded view describes the assembly of components, where items are
shown apart and look like an exploding view, to demonstrate how they fit one another. Using
this visual clue, viewers are able to apprehend assembly hierarchy, part agglomeration, and
component interactions. Exploded views are often included in assembly instructions,
technical documentation, and slides to ensure effective communication of the problem
solving process to stakeholders, who can be company management, buyers, and operations
and control groups.

ANIMATION
SOLIDWORKS capability of animating products helps to illustrate how things operate when
they are assembled and displayed in the context of the other components. Users can develop
key position, rotation and time elapsed animations by adding key points, frames, and length
for part and ensemble. Through the motion study- either linear or circular or path based
movements- designers come to know how machinery works, how assemblies are formed and
how a finished product is manufactured by the process. Increased comprehension, design
verification and acceptance of ideas are achieved through animation. This form of media
grasps attention during presentations or reviews.
