Use
This product is used in fixed Sinorix™ automatic extinguishing systems based on inert gases
and fire-inhibiting gases.

Functions
The actuator activates the automatic gas extinguishing system manually, either
pneumatically and automatically or manually.

Automatic pneumatic actuation

When the system is actuated, pressurized gas activates the actuator, which opens the
cylinder valve:
● by perforating the sealing plug of a VS12-, VR12- and VSB33-type cylinder valve, or a
MAVADI distribution matrix,
● by activating the shaft of a VFR300-S type cylinder valve.

Manual actuation
The user removes the safety axis pin and lowers the actuation lever firmly:
● The actuator pusher presses on the PIST actuation piston which perforates the sealing
disc (VS12-, VR12- and VSB33-type cylinder valves, and MAVADI distribution matrices),
● The actuator pusher activates the shaft on a VFR300-S type cylinder valve.

Notes
Safety
This product may only be installed by Siemens-authorized specialized installers, with
experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of automatic extinguishing systems.
During installation, it must be ensured that:
● this product is installed in compliance with the accident prevention regulations and
national regulations in force,
● this product is used as intended,
● any danger is avoided,
● Siemens requirements are met (assembly instructions, technical instructions,
commissioning, and operating instructions),
● the operators have received and understood the information related to this product.
At commissioning, ensure compliance with the legislation in force, technical regulations and
safety instructions.
Failure to comply with Siemens' instructions may result in serious bodily injury or significant
property damage, for which Siemens cannot be held liable.
Siemens reserves the right to make technical modifications and/or improvements at any
time.

Mounting
All cylinder valves (except VFR300-S) and distribution matrix
● Apply fluorosilicone grease sparingly to the O-ring of the PIST piston.
● Check that the spring of the PIST piston is correctly positioned, its wide base towards the
tip of the needle.
● Position the PIST equipped with its spring gently in the valve port, without pressing on
the O-ring: the O-ring must remain visible.

● Apply fluorosilicone grease sparingly to the O-ring of the actuator.

● Screw the actuator using a 30 mm open-end wrench.
Torque: 4 daNm

VFR300-S cylinder valve

Do not use the PIST actuation piston.

● Apply fluorosilicone grease sparingly to the O-ring of the actuator.

● Screw the actuator using a 30 mm open-end wrench.
Torque: 4 daNm
Maintenance

Storage
● Store in its original packaging, protected from shocks.
● Storage time: maximum 10 years (observe ISO 2230 guidelines).

Inspection every six months

● Check that the product is in a good condition.
● Check that the product is properly tightened. Re-tighten if necessary.

After an actuation
All cylinder valves (except VFR300-S) and distribution matrix
● Remove the actuator from the cylinder to be replaced, or from the related zone port on
the distribution matrix.
● Remove the used PIST piston and dispose of it.
● Apply grease to a new PIST and position it into the actuation port of the cylinder valve,
on the new cylinder, or in the zone port of the distribution matrix.
● Screw the pre-sealed actuator.

● Screw the pre-sealed actuator.

Only use actuators in good condition.
