Part 1: SOCIAL INTERACTION


The first part is social interaction. In this part, you will answer questions about you and
everyday situations, such as work, hobbies and family
Now let’s talk about holidays.
1. Do you like to travel?
2. What kind of places have you visited in your life?
3. What’s the best place you’ve ever visited?
4. Do you like to travel on your own or with your family?
5. Do you like visit popular places or less-known places?
6. Do you prefer short trips or long trips?
7. What places do you want to visit in the future? Why?
8. What are the major tourist attractions in your country?
9. What do you think people can learn from travelling to other countries? Why?
10. Do Vietnamese people like to travel abroad?

Part 2: SOLUTION DISCUSSION


In this part of the speaking test, you will be given a situation with THREE options. You have
to choose ONE to argue on. You will have to say which option you will follow and explain why.
You will also have to say why you haven't chosen the other two options. You have ONE minute
to prepare for your talk and TWO minutes to talk. Here is the situation.

Situation: Some of your friends are thinking about a place to go


on holiday. There are THREE options:
- sandy beach for sunbathing
- picturesque mountainous area for picnic
- or recreational center for risky sports?
Which of three places do you think is the best choice?

Situation: An older couple is going away for their 40th


wedding anniversary. They are considering THREE options:
- a day hike in the mountains
- a luxurious cruise around the Mediterranean
- a spa get away at a beach
Which do you think would be the most suitable?
Situation: Your family is planning on a holiday. There are
THREE options that are reasonable to your family time and
financial budget:
- a three – day trip to a foreign country
- a four-day trip to a mountainous area
- a two-day trip at a beach resort
What do you think is the best choice?

Part 3: TOPIC DEVELOPMENT


In this part of the speaking test, you will have to present on a topic that you will see in the
outline below. After your presentation, you will be asked THREE follow-up questions related
to the topic. You have ONE minute to prepare and THREE minutes to complete this part.
Here is the outline of the topic.

Topic: Tourist development has a lot of disadvantages.
