I- COUNTABLE NOUNS (N đếm được)

- Danh từ đếm được là những danh từ thể hiện rõ về mặt số lượng
- 2 loại danh từ đếm được : số ít và số nhiều
1. SINGULAR NOUNS (N số ít)
- Gồm 1 người, 1 vật
- Cấu tạo: a/an/the + N
* Trường hợp ngoại lệ
a university 1 trường đại học an hour 1 giờ
a uniform 1 bộ đồng phục an honest man/ woman 1 người đàn ôn/ đàn bà trung thực

2. PLURAL NOUNS (N số nhiều)

- Gồm 2 người, 2 vật trở lên
- Cấu tạo: N số ít + s
* Trường hợp ngoại lệ
- Danh từ số ít kết thúc bằng “o, s, sh, ch, z và x” thì thêm đuôi es
Eg: Bus → buses Box → boxes
- Danh từ số ít kết thúc bằng một phụ âm + y thì chuyển “y” → “i” và thêm đuôi “es”
Eg: Baby → babies Fly → flies
- Danh từ, động từ kết thúc bằng một nguyên âm + y thì giữ nguyên và thêm đuôi s
Eg: Boy → boys Donkey → donkeys
- Danh từ, động từ kết thúc bằng “f, fe” thì đổi “f, fe” → “v” + đuôi “es”
Eg: Half → halves Knife → knives
