Solution

Difficulties to cool down the cabin temperature on ground could be

encountered and in order to make certain that the optimum level of pack
performance will be maintained before the summer season the following
components cleaning, check and replacement can be applied:

- Remove primary heat exchanger and main heat exchanger for

cleaning; MPD task 215200.01.1

It could result from the primary heat exchanger or main heat exchanger
clogged or partially clogged (cold air side) an increase of the compressor
discharge temperature, water extractor temperature and pack discharge
temperature.
In addition it can result in a reduction of the ventilation within the air
conditioning pack bay with possible LH (RH) WING LEAK LOOP A & B
warning during hot day operation.

- Remove reheater for cleaning; MPD task 215200.02.1

The reheater is the heat exchanger which is most susceptible to

contamination.

It could result from a clogged or partially clogged reheater a decrease of

the pack flow with associated decrease of air cycle machine speed and
increase of pack discharge temperature.

In addition it can result in a reduction of the ventilation within the air

conditioning pack bay with possible LH (RH) WING LEAK LOOP A & B
warning during hot day operation.

- Remove condenser for leak check; MPD task 215200.04.1

It could result from internal leakage of condenser tubes an increase of the

pack discharge temperature.

- Check water extractor drain and injector nozzle for blockage

The water extraction loop of the air conditioning pack includes the
condenser, the water extractor and the reheater. The water extractor
removes free (liquid) water by creating a vortex, forcing the water
droplets to collect on the walls of the unit. The water is then drained and
injected into the ram air inlet duct. This water injection subsequently
increases the cooling efficiency of the heat exchanger unit.

- Check pack outlet condenser bellows for leakage

A leaky condenser bellows will result in a reduction in the amount of air

discharged into the air mixing unit because the major pack flow is driven
to the belly fairing instead and therefore in cabin temperature control
difficulties.

A leaky condenser bellows should result in a very low pack discharge

temperature on the affected side due to the fact that the mixer unit
temperature sensor (used for pack demand) will pull the demand (cold) to
the limit.
