Applicants need to provide a self-typed letter addressed to THE NIGERIA HIGH COMMISSION IN
Request letter
OTTAWA, SIGNED AND DATED. Outlining the purpose of travel, entry/exit dates and any other
relevant information pertaining to your trip.
A letter of invitation from a Nigerian passport holder stating the reason for visit, dates of travel and
that he/she will accept full Immigration and financial responsibilities for the applicant.
Invitation Letter The Formal Invitation letter should be addressed to the Nigerian High Commission and IT MUST BE
SIGNED BY THE INVITEE.
APPLICANTS WITH VALID NIGERIAN PASSPORT, SHOULD NOT PROVIDE AN INVITATION LETTER, INSTEAD
SUBMIT THE BIO PAGE OF VALID NIGERIAN PASSPORT.
A legible copy of your inviting party Nigerian passport must be accompanied by the letter of
Invitation. The passport of the inviter must be valid, expired passports are not accepted.

Evidence of Photocopy of Receipts for the purchase of U.S. funds from the bank considered adequate to cover
Sufficient Funds the cost of the trip and not Statement of your Account.
Yellow Fever Photocopy of Yellow Fever certificate. Do not send original yellow Fever certificate.
Vaccination Your application wouldn’t be processed unless you provide this or written doctor’s note stating
the reason for not being able to provide the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
Applications for minors under 18 years old are to be accompanied by letters of consent signed by
both parents, a photocopy of the passport of both parents as well as the Registration of live birth
Minors
of the child (ren) which bears the names of either or both parents. The letters of consent must be
endorsed in all cases by a Notary Public.
The High Commission reserves the exclusive right to grant or reject visas and, in some cases, may request for additional documents.
Failure to comply will result in your passport been returned without a visa. Any church activities or visit needs to obtain approval from
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria on your behalf.
If you are unable to provide any document(s) listed above, write a signed letter of explanation addressed to the Nigerian High
Commission.
